II. Basic Purpose and Scope

The main function of this job is to receive orders into the conditioning or finishing area and perform the next operation following the Production Routine using the FIFO process. This includes the set-up of all processing equipment such as embossing presses, stakers, mills, feeding and tending finishing equipment such as spray lines/roll coaters and operation of deduster and air-off tunnels. Process customer orders while matching proper customer standards and targets while following the direction mandated on the PD Process Routine. Follow daily scheduling to support customer demand. General Operators with experience have the opportunity to also help train, assist, and guide other General Operators with less conditioning experience.

III. Principal Activities: Does the following in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and the Company?s policies, procedures and guidelines, this position:

41% to 50% 1 While following FIFO order, process each order through its needed operation based on finishing routine. Use instructions and targets listed on the Production Routine to make decisions to condition as much defect free leather within the time allowed on all conditioning equipment.

10% to 20% 2 Assist in the set-up of all processing equipment, if necessary, to process the product scheduled. Process equipment includes embossing presses, Stakers, milling drums, Spray lines/roll coaters, air-off tunnels and de-duster. Monitor the product being ran at each operation and communicate any concerns with your Production Leader and/or Production Supervisor.

5% to 10% 3 Maintain a safe work environment and always report any unsafe machines and/or acts.

5% to 10% 4 Housekeeping and 5S standards are to be maintained.

5% to 10% 5 Complete all necessary paperwork with regards to traceability and record keeping such as routines, and FTP charts.

5% to 10% 6 Inspect all equipment at the start/end of the production day to ensure functionality of such equipment.

III. Principal Challenges: Describe the most typical and the most complex problems that are faced in this positions, as well as the long-range challenges:

Typical/Complex Description

Typical Problem Using our Production schedule to navigate the day?s work using FIFO process in the most efficient manner possible to get all work done to achieve our Production goals using TAKT time.

Most Complex Challenge Conditioning parameters being asked to perform on the routine does not achieve the desired result the customer is targeting in which case the Conditioning Lead must make decision to modify the parameters himself or call his Production Supervisor or the Production Manager for direction.

Long-Range Challenge To achieve 100% quality defect free product or 0PPM to External customers while learning and administering proper technique in conditioning leather.

IV. Minimum Qualifications

A. Required Education, Training and/or Experience: Minimum High School Diploma

Education to be in the following or a related area: A minimum of 1 year training in the conditioning area.

Additional certifications or education required to perform this job: Must show ability to operate each piece of conditioning equipment properly and safely.

B. Skills and Background: Employee must understand the processes and routines that are required to properly condition the leather. Should have the ability to detect out of control FTP conditions and minor defects to ensure that quality product is being run according to parameters on the routine. The ability to be trained to learn how to operate tools such as pyrometers, tachometers, moisture meters, BLC, Snap gauge and other conditioning tools.

C. Language Requirements: The ability to read and write English and to be able to follow verbal instructions, written procedures and process routines that describe our targets and goals.

D. Equipment Operation:

70 to 80% Embossing presses, mills, staker, de-duster, spray lines/roll coaters and air-off tunnels. Yes Basic repairs of staker belts, mill filters, embossing felt and all general operations of each.

20 to 30% All gauges such as pyrometers, tachometers etc. No N/A (performed by Quality)

10 to 20% Air-off Tunnel, Yes General understanding of equipment operations and trouble shooting.

E. Physical Requirements ? Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
