Job description

**SUMMARY

The Molding Technician is responsible for running various molding machines and secondary equipment.

**RESPONSIBILITIES

**

**

**

  1. Work with injection molding machines and blow molding equipment, reduce downtime and improve efficiency.

  2. Monitor process and product quality.

  3. Maintain and improve Quality.

  4. Work with Process Engineering to reduce downtime and scrap and improve process efficiency.

  5. Identify molding problems due to tooling problems and report them to Supervisor.

  6. Participate in maintaining tooling and equipment thru PM Program.

  7. Record downtime and scrap and changeover time.

**REQUIRED SKILLS

**

  1. Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

  2. Ability to operate a forklift and overhead crane.

  3. Knowledge of blow molding machines

**

**EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

**

**

**

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience is required with at least 2 years of machine operating is required. Experience using hand tools is preferred.

**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS

**

  1. Work requires walking, sitting, climbing, bending, stooping, grasping, crouching, pushing, balancing, reaching, kneeling, and standing.

  2. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis.

  3. Work requires working under high and low temperatures at certain times.
