Fairchild Freight is a best-in-class third-party logistics brokerage specializing in refrigerated and dry van truckload shipping. We are looking for a seasoned Account Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment, naturally builds long-term customer relationships, and is equally comfortable pursuing new business through both inside and outside sales.
The Account Manager is responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of shipper accounts while actively developing new business. This role blends relationship management, consultative selling, and strategic account growth. The ideal candidate is a proven performer with prior experience in the trucking brokerage/3PL industry, strong sales instincts, and the ability to maintain high customer satisfaction while driving revenue.
Key Responsibilities:
Account Management/Inside and Outside Sales
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts, ensuring exceptional service and communication.
  • Develop and execute account strategies to increase revenue, margin, and customer retention.
  • Manage pricing conversations and negotiate contract/rate agreements aligned to market conditions.
  • Identify opportunities to expand lanes, volume, and services within existing accounts.
  • Monitor performance metrics.
  • Maintain accurate customer notes, activity, and pipeline updates in CRM.
  • Represent the company professionally in the market while building brand presence and trust.
  • Proactively prospect and qualify leads.

  • 2-5 years of prior trucking brokerage/3PL experience
  • Demonstrated success in inside AND outside sales
  • Strong understanding of freight fundamentals: lanes, market pricing, service levels, contract vs. spot freight
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently with strong time management and follow-through
  • CRM proficiency (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.) and strong skills in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace
  • Ability to identify, pursue, and win new business opportunities

Preferred Qualification:
  • Established shipper relationships.
  • Experience managing national accounts or multi-lane RFPs.
  • Strong analytical mindset for margin management, pricing, and strategy.
