Electrical Engineering Intern | Greenwood Village, CO

This posting is for Summer 2027 Internship opportunities.
IMEG is hiring an Electrical Engineering Intern in Greenwood Village, Colorado. Over 10-12 weeks, you'll assist in the analysis, design, and implementation oversight of electrical systems in buildings while working alongside experienced engineers and consultants on real project work.
In this role, you'll support documentation, coordination, job site observations, and project progress while working within project budgets and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations. You will contribute to hospitality-focused building projects supported by a broader MEP team, while advancing high-performance, energy-efficient design aligned with MEP2050 and AIA2030.

What You'll Do
  • Assist with engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of electrical systems in buildings

  • Assist with design portions of projects according to code and IMEG standards

  • Research commercially available equipment and resources

  • Support client relations, project design notebooks, and documentation for permanent record files

  • Coordinate design and schedules with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment supplier teams

  • Document design decisions, meetings, client instructions, and project progress promptly

  • Review project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to final check

  • Assist with preparation and issuance of addendum information

  • Conduct periodic job site observations and perform other services required by the contract services agreement

  • Work within project budgets and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations

What You'll Bring
Required
Education
  • Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required

Required Skills/Abilities
  • Strong interest in design consulting

  • Previous exposure to CAD and/or BIM software

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups

Preferred
  • Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred

  • High-volume execution team for repeat TI programs and prototype deployment, with secondary strength in resort/hospitality, civic, and larger mixed-use / sports developments

  • National rollout / prototype TI work, with repeat assignments for brands like Edward Jones, The UPS Store, DoorDash, T-Mobile, NVI/America's Best, and similar accounts

  • Hotel, resort, and hospitality projects in parallel with that rollout work

  • Colorado-area civic, arena, utility, telecom, and mixed-use efforts

  • Recent work includes DoorDash / DashMart / Denver, CO / Tenant Improvement, Programmatic Commercial / Retail, and Omni Hotels / Raleigh, NC / New 511 Guestroom Hotel, Hospitality

State of Colorado Salary Range: $22-24 per hour
The range listed above represents the base pay IMEG reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position in the work location identified above at the time of posting. For positions available in multiple locations, the minimums and maximums may vary based on work location.
Individual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors, including the candidate's experience, education, knowledge, skills, abilities, and licensure and certifications.
