Soccer Stars is the leading youth soccer programs and Amazing Athletes is the leading multi-
sport program for children ages 12 months to 13 years in Long Island and Eastern Queens. Our
acclaimed program provides an energetic, enjoyable, and age-suitable introduction to sports by
providing classes, camps, schools, community centers, and local parks. We take pride in our
creative curriculum, which focuses not only on sport specific skills but also on fostering social
skills and character development, creating a positive and lasting impact on every child we
coach.
Description
Soccer Stars and Amazing Athletes of Long Island & Eastern Queens is seeking a full-time
Coaching Operations Manager to join our team. This role is responsible for overseeing, developing, and
evaluating our coaching staff to ensure high-quality instruction and program execution. The
Coaching Operations Manager will also play a key role in hiring, training, and mentoring coaches while
collaborating with internal departments to optimize scheduling and staffing.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a proactive mindset, and excellent
communication abilities to support coach development and program growth. This position
involves both hands-on coaching support and administrative coordination to ensure the best
experience for our young athletes and their families.
For the right candidate, success in this role could evolve into a larger leadership position as we
continue to grow and expand our footprint across Long Island and Queens.
Responsibilities:
Program Management & Operations:
• Oversee the strategy and execution of coach hiring, training, and scheduling.
• Supervise and evaluate coaching staff to maintain and enhance program quality.
• Supervise the Coaching Coordinator to accomplish coaching department goals.
• Maintain accurate inventory and distribution of program equipment.
• Work with the Staffing Coordinator to determine staffing decisions by aligning coaches
with appropriate classes and age groups.
• Act as the primary point of contact for coach-related inquiries, feedback, and
development.
Coach Development & Training:
• Design and implement a comprehensive training program for coaches based on
performance evaluations.
• Lead coach training sessions to ensure alignment with Soccer Stars and Amazing
Athlete curriculum and coaching philosophy.
• Provide ongoing mentorship, feedback, and support to coaching staff at all levels.
• Conduct regular site visits to ensure class quality, provide feedback, and liaise with
parents.
• Evaluate coach performance and provide structured feedback to drive improvement.
• Monitor coach performance and determine advancement for coaches alongside the
promotion cycle.
Leadership & Community Engagement:
• Support and report to the Owner and General Manager, contributing to overall program
success.
• Promote and uphold the Soccer Stars brand through community engagement and
partnerships.
• Collaborate with the administrative team on coach performance tracking and
development.
• Assist in ad-hoc projects associated with the success of the business.
Requirements
• Minimum of 2+ years of youth sports experience.
• Minimum of 2+ years of management or supervisory experience.
• Degree in childhood education, physical education, or sport management is a plus.
• Ability to work weekends.
• Experience in preparing and delivering presentations to large groups.
• Strong leadership and mentorship skills.
• Customer service-oriented mindset.
• Exceptional organizational and communication abilities.
• Ability and willingness to travel across Long Island and Eastern Queens regularly.
