Job description

Title: Project Manager-Sports
Salary Range: $100,000-$130,000/Year
Temporary Full Time - Ending August 31, 2028
Position Overview:
Creative Technology (CT) seeks a Project Manager - Sports to lead the delivery of signal distribution and transport systems within a long-term, large-scale technology program in the Los Angeles area. This role owns the design, deployment and commissioning of IP and traditional AV systems while acting as the primary technical project management resource for the video transport scope.
Job Description
  • Responsible for supervision of all personnel and activities on multiple sports venue project sites.
  • Serves as an on-site CT representative at client office when not at project sites during non-operational periods.
  • Serves as an on-site CT representative at client site as project demands (often 5+ days including weekends) during operational / critical periods.
  • Reviews all contract documents including, but not limited to: bid drawings and specifications, contract, project workbook, subcontractor scopes of work, and construction schedule.
  • Acquires a thorough understanding of project requirements and objectives including, but not limited to: contractual, financial, technical, schedule, construction coordination, materials, personnel, and scope of work.
  • Facilitates internal project kick-off meeting that includes key participants from sales, engineering, fabrication and installation.
  • Coordinates and participates in activities associated with project execution, including but not limited to: site surveys, submittals, engineering, fabrication and installation, programming, commissioning, testing and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborates on the master project schedule.
  • Functions as the focal point for internal and external project communication and documentation.
  • Coordinates activities with general contractor, construction manager, owner and other trades as required.
  • Provides regular reports of job progress to all stakeholders.
  • Assists with or facilitates the ordering of materials upon approval of submittal documents or verification from engineering for design-build projects.
  • Coordinates with installation/operations manager to schedule personnel for installation.
  • Cooperatively manages and monitors the labor expenditures of engineering, fabrication and installation personnel over the course of the project and communicates (upward) any issues that impact profitability.
  • Solicits quotes from qualified subcontractors as required.
  • Generates and/or responds to construction communication including, but not limited to: requests for information, change order documents, room readiness letters, delay or compression notification of theft or damage to materials, tools or vehicles, safety or injury reports, warranty information, material handoff or inventory, punch lists, field reports, sign-off documents or other documentation as assigned or required.
  • Proactively manages the change order process.
  • Regularly inspects installation work performed by staff and/or subcontractors.
  • Tests, or certifies the performance of, installed systems.
  • Coordinates and/or provides training to client.
  • Coordinates turn-over of project to service department at the end of each project.

Required Skills
  • 3- 5 years of AV / Sports Broadcast or In-House Production industry experience.
  • The Ability to supervise and manage tasks and personnel to meet project objectives.
  • Will possess a fundamental understanding of AV system functionality and installation process and techniques.
  • Experience with AV over IP systems / SMPTE2110 preferred but not required.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve technical, personnel or other project related issues.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft project, Adobe Acrobat, Basecamp, D-Tools and AutoCAD, Vectorworks, LudidChart.
  • Ability to generate timely, concise, and effective business correspondence.
  • Ability to read and comprehend project technical documents including, but not limited to; engineering and architectural drawings, schedules, test reports, or commissioning documents.
  • Ability to create and maintain construction schedules.
  • Ability to interact with employees, customers and colleagues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Effective time management and attention to detail.
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License and be a safe driver.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
