Columbia Association is seeking energetic, service-driven, and dependable leaders to join our Racquet Sports team as a Manager on Duty (MOD). This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys leading people, and is passionate about creating exceptional experiences for members and guests.
As the Racquet Sports MOD, you’ll play a key role in the daily operations of our premier racquet sports facilities—supporting staff, engaging with members, ensuring safety standards, and helping deliver the welcoming, community-focused atmosphere Columbia Association is known for.
Whether you’re a sports enthusiast, hospitality professional, or aspiring operations leader, this role offers the opportunity to make an immediate impact while growing your leadership skills in a dynamic recreational environment.

What You’ll Do
Lead Daily Operations
  • Supervise and support racquet sports team members during assigned shifts
  • Coach staff and ensure club standards, policies, and procedures are consistently upheld
  • Assist with shift coordination, staffing adjustments, and emergency coverage
Deliver Exceptional Member Experiences
  • Welcome members and guests with professionalism and positivity
  • Resolve member questions and concerns in a timely, customer-focused manner
  • Help foster a fun, inclusive, and community-oriented club culture
Maintain a Safe & Clean Facility
  • Conduct facility walkthroughs and operational inspections
  • Monitor safety standards and respond to urgent operational needs
  • Assist with cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining club presentation standards
Support Club Operations
  • Process approved refunds and operational transactions accurately
  • Assist with onboarding and operational training of new team members
  • Document incidents, maintenance issues, and operational updates clearly and professionally

What We’re Looking For
  • Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, recreation, or sports facility operations preferred
  • Leadership or supervisory experience is a plus
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and confidently make decisions in real-time
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Comfortable working in an active, fast-paced environment

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move up to 50 lbs.

The pay range for this position is $17.75 to $19.25 per hour.  The actual pay rate offered will depend on the overall qualifications of the individual applicant for the position and the amount budgeted for the role. CA offers a positive, fun work environment and a generous benefits package. Part-time benefits include a free Fit & Play membership, Wellness benefits w/Perks and some paid leave. Full-time benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), a free Fit & Play membership, Wellness benefits w/perks and paid leave.
