NE Sports Hub, "the Hub", is a cutting-edge, world class facility, offering sports and entertainment to athletes of all ages and abilities. With 135k square feet of indoor sports and entertainment space, we are the largest indoor sports dome in New England and the first to provide Trackman golf performance range technology. Our offerings include Golf & Range, Turf Sports, Sports Performance as well as food & beverage offerings. We are looking for guest experience minded individuals to join our fitness focused, fun team.
Position Summary:
The Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of food items in accordance with established recipes, maintaining high standards of food quality, cleanliness, and safety, and ensuring that dishes are prepared in a timely manner. The Cook works closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen, following food safety regulations, and ensuring consistency and quality in all dishes.
This position requires the ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.
Responsibilities :
Food Preparation & Cooking:
  • Prepare and cook food items according to established recipes and quality standards.
  • Set up workstations with all necessary supplies and equipment before service.
  • Cook and plate food items in a timely manner, ensuring quality, consistency, and proper portioning.
  • Prepare ingredients, sauces, dressings, and garnishes in accordance with recipes.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including food storage areas.
  • Operate kitchen equipment such as stoves, ovens, grills, fryers, and other tools.

Quality Control:
  • Ensure all dishes are prepared according to the restaurant's specifications and are presented attractively.
  • Monitor food for taste, texture, and appearance, ensuring quality and consistency in every dish.
  • Make adjustments to cooking techniques or ingredient quantities as necessary to achieve desired results.

Food Safety & Sanitation:
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling, storing, and cooking of food to prevent contamination.
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, utensils, and cooking equipment after use.
  • Maintain proper food storage procedures, ensuring that perishable items are refrigerated or frozen as required.
  • Adhere to health regulations and kitchen policies to ensure a safe and clean work environment.

Inventory & Stocking:
  • Assist in monitoring kitchen inventory and alert management when supplies or ingredients are running low.
  • Stock and rotate food and kitchen supplies to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
  • Ensure that all ingredients are labeled, stored properly, and used before their expiration dates.

Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with other cooks, kitchen staff, and front-of-house team to ensure that orders are prepared and delivered promptly.
  • Communicate effectively with the kitchen team to ensure that food is prepared according to order specifications and service times.
  • Assist other kitchen staff when needed, including dishwashing or food prep tasks.

Time Management:
  • Work efficiently to ensure that orders are completed and delivered in a timely manner during busy periods.
  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize orders to meet customer demands.
  • Stay organized and maintain focus during peak hours to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation role is preferred, particularly in a restaurant, hotel, or other food service environment.
  • Knowledge of basic cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of cooking methods, techniques, and presentation.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work effectively with other kitchen staff.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple orders at once.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and move throughout the venue, including kitchens, dining areas, and storage facilities.
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, including food products, supplies, and equipment.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching to access storage areas and inventory.

Work Location: This position requires 100% on-site attendance.
