Opportunity

Thisis a commission-based position which is responsible for assisting to achievefinancial and strategic goals. Racquet Sports Professionals actively supportdaily operations of the department as well as adhere and enforce Sports Coreand resort policies and procedures.  Maintaining a relationship and industry knowledge via the USTA,USPTA, and PPA.  Racquet Sports Pros areto ensure maximum and creative usage of the facilities for all ages andabilities while maintaining a safe environment for play and development. Assistin the promotion of group fitness classes and personal training for the benefitof overall health and well-being of members and guests.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the Dir-Racquet Sports to develop and execute financial and marketing plans to meet financial objectives. Ensure that expenditures to align with approved budgets.
  • Plan, and facilitate private, semi-private, and group tennis and pickleball classes.
  • Possess the skills to restring and regrip racquets and ensure quality service.
  • Assist to develop activity planning calendars and execute creative programs that maximize court usage.
  • Facilitate tennis programs for members, hotel guests and the general public. Includes lessons, social events and drills for all ages.
  • Assist with marketing efforts to meet participation goals.
  • Assist to establish standards for tennis and pickleball instruction and ensure that self and other professionals and assistants adhere to those standards. This includes teaching techniques, student interaction, recordkeeping and maximizing indoor and outdoor court usage.
  • Assist to schedule, promote and execute both sanctioned and non-sanctioned tournaments for adults, high school and college players, in accordance with WTA, USTA, and USA Pickleball guidelines.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends via meeting attendance and communication with local, regional and national organizations.
  • If qualified and trained, perform racquet stringing and grip services on a commission basis.
  • In the absence of the Dir-Racquet Sports, serve as Sports Core ambassador for tennis and pickleball via local, regional and national level organizations and maintain necessary membership or recordkeeping needs.
  • Advocate the benefits of racquet sports to all age groups.
  • Champion year-round junior programs on a regional level by working with area coaches and racquet sports organizations. This is to be accomplished via lessons, specialty programs, clinics, drills and on/off-site tournament coaching for members and non-members alike.
  • Maintain accurate records and data base information related to all tennis and pickleball activity - including lesson rosters and tournaments. Complete all necessary reports in a timely fashion.
  • Work closely with management regarding retail Pro Shop offerings, sales and promotions- including racquets, paddles, strings, grips and apparel.
  • Work closely with maintenance on equipment needs.
  • Ensure a high degree of safety for both indoor and outdoor tennis and pickleball facilities.
  • Inspect areas on a regular basis to assure quality levels are maintained. Ensure applicable WTA, USTA, and PPA guidelines are followed.
  • Maintain close relationships with Operations Team members and participate in both business specific and resort wide meetings and other gatherings. Remain engaged and portray the attributes required of a high-quality membership club and Forbes/5 Star resort.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management.

This is a casual part-time position including weekdays and weekends. Shifts vary between 7:00am - 10:00pm.
