Youth Sports, Health Coach/Instructor

Youth Sports and Health, Huron Valley MI

Top pay, a flexible schedule, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in children’s lives!

The Company

Due to rapid growth, Youth Sports and Health, Huron Valley MI is hiring coaches and instructors across all three of our enrichment programs: Soccer Stars, Amazing Athletes, and Little Medical School. Applicants should indicate which program—or programs—they are most interested in teaching.
We help schools provide what today’s families want: more movement, healthier habits, and confident, engaged children. Together, our three programs offer a comprehensive range of sports, fitness, health, and STEM enrichment.

Our Programs

Soccer Stars (ages 1–18)
introduces children to the world’s most popular sport through fun, age-appropriate instruction. Coaches use individual attention, positive reinforcement, and a noncompetitive approach to help every child build skills, confidence, and a lifelong love of soccer. Soccer experience is helpful but not required for preschool-age classes.

Amazing Athletes (ages 18 months–14 years)
introduces children to 10 major sports while developing coordination, confidence, teamwork, and healthy habits. Our active, skill-based classes are designed to make every child feel successful and discover their inner athlete.

Little Medical School (ages 3–14 years)
introduces children to healthcare, science, and animals through imaginative, hands-on learning. Students explore medicine, veterinary care, the human body, healthy habits, and medical tools through role-play, movement, crafts, stories, and interactive activities.

The Position

We welcome both part-time and full-time applicants. Most coaches begin in a part-time role, leading classes at childcare centers, schools, parks, and community locations throughout the Huron Valley area. Full-time work is available for coaches interested in teaching across multiple programs.
For tenured coaches interested in contributing beyond the classroom, there are opportunities to take on responsibilities in operations and administration, sales, and marketing.

You will:

  • Lead fun, interactive classes using our ready-made curricula
  • Create a positive, safe, and engaging environment
  • Encourage children through individual attention and positive reinforcement
  • Participate in paid training and remain open to coaching and feedback
  • Communicate reliably with our operations team and partner locations

Who We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children through teaching, coaching, camps, childcare, babysitting, or similar roles
  • Energetic, dependable, and comfortable leading groups
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to class locations

Experience in sports, healthcare, science, education, theater, or early childhood development is helpful but not required.

The Schedule

Most part-time coaches teach between 5 and 25 classes per week, depending on their availability and performance. Classes are generally offered during:
  • Monday–Friday: 9:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
  • Weekends: 9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.

Applicants do not need to be available during every listed day or time. Full-time schedules may combine teaching responsibilities across multiple programs with additional business responsibilities.

Compensation

  • Assistant Coaches/Instructors start at $18 per hour
  • Junior Coaches/Instructors receive $21.50 per hour after completing the training period
  • Head Coaches/Instructors receive $25 per hour following promotion

Benefits

  • Flexible part-time and full-time schedules
  • Paid training and professional development
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Medical insurance available to full-time employees
  • Performance Bonuses
  • Coach referral bonuses of $100–$200
  • Lead-coach bonus opportunities
  • Opportunities to advance into leadership, administration, operations, sales, and marketing

If you enjoy working with children and want a rewarding role that combines movement, learning, and fun, we would love to meet you. Please indicate whether you are interested in Soccer Stars, Amazing Athletes, Little Medical School, or a combination of programs when applying.
