The Big Ten Network is seeking a CRM Freelancer for 10 months from July 2026 through June 1st, 2027. The CRM Freelancer will support the execution, optimization, and growth of the network's direct-to-consumer CRM marketing efforts across email, push, in-app messaging, and lifecycle marketing channels. This role will work closely with the CRM team to help drive subscriber acquisition, engagement, retention, and revenue growth for B1G+.


B1G+ is the Big Ten Network's direct-to-consumer subscription service featuring thousands of live non-televised events, next-day on-demand replays, school-specific channels, and access to classic games and original programming.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with CRM platforms (preferably Braze), email and push campaign execution, and lifecycle marketing strategy in a fast-paced environment. Candidates with HTML/development experience or familiarity with dynamic messaging and personalization are strongly preferred.

This role is ideal for someone looking to expand beyond traditional CRM responsibilities and gain exposure to multiple areas of sports marketing and direct-to-consumer growth strategy.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build, QA, schedule, and deploy CRM campaigns across email, push notifications, in-app messaging, and social
  • Develop, implement, and manage the @BigTenPlus account on X and Instagram
  • Support lifecycle marketing initiatives including onboarding, retention, winback, and promotional campaigns
  • Support testing initiatives including subject lines, messaging, segmentation, and creative variations
  • Support real-time messaging needs during live events and major sports moments
  • Assist with audience segmentation, personalization, and dynamic content implementation
  • Assist in creating and optimizing customer journeys and automated campaigns within Braze
  • Collaborate with CRM, Creative, Product, and Marketing teams to execute campaigns and promotions
  • Write clear, concise, and engaging copy for email, push, and mobile messaging
  • Perform campaign QA to ensure accuracy across links, personalization, rendering, and audience targeting
  • Help analyze campaign performance and provide insights/recommendations for optimization
  • Stay current on CRM, email, mobile marketing, and lifecycle best practices
  • Affiliate program strategy and partner support

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
