Job description

Job Title: Department of Spiritual Life - Ministry Driver FWS/NFWS
Position Summary/Purpose:
The purpose of the Department of Spiritual Life Ministry Driver position is to advance the mission and vision of GCU Spiritual Life by supporting the mobilization of student-led ministry to local and global communities in the Phoenix area. Ministry Drivers operate GCU Fleet vans, providing transportation to GCU student volunteers to and from offsite outreach ministry events.
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities/Essential Functions:
  • pick-up and drop-off GCU fleet van
  • confirm volunteer head-count to and from destination
  • ensure use of seat belts by all passengers
  • drive volunteers to and from offsite outreach events
  • check van for lost/left items as passengers disembark
  • communicate any vehicle issues with GCU Fleet Service
  • Ministry Driver will remain with ministry leader during event-from beginning to end.

Equipment Used and Responsibility:
Ministry Driver will operate GCU Fleet 15 Passenger Van, 12 Passenger Van, SUV, or Truck to offsite events.
Qualifications:
  • Candidates MUST BE 21 years of age or older
  • Candidates must possess a current Driver's License and clean driving record
  • New hire must submit to GCU fleet drivers training and pass the GCU fleet written and practical assessment and background check before the beginning of scheduled work hours.
  • Clearance failure will result in conclusion of employment

Experience/Education:
Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:
  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor's program or Master's program.
  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.
Pay Rate: Minimum Wage
Anticipated End Date: June 30, 2027
