Job description

Achievement House is dedicated to empowering adults with disabilities to discover their strengths, build confidence, and thrive in meaningful work. As a Retail Skills Trainer, you will play a vital role in guiding participants through hands-on training in a supportive retail environment. This position offers the opportunity to make a real difference by fostering independence, celebrating progress, and promoting inclusion and dignity. Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized, hands-on job coaching and instruction to adults with disabilities, supporting their vocational goals in a retail setting.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe, efficient, and customer-friendly thrift store environment.
  • Collaborate with the Supported Employment Supervisor and fellow Job Coaches to coordinate support and share participant progress.
  • Accurately complete required documentation, including attendance records, job coach notes, objective sheets, and incident/accident reports.
  • Monitor contract requirements to ensure quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
  • Promote an inclusive, encouraging, and supportive atmosphere for both participants and customers.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid California Driver’s License for at least 2 years
  • Reliable transportation; driving is required
  • Basic computer and technology skills
  • Patience, compassion, and the ability to model positive workplace behavior
