Job Summary
The cashier is responsible for establishing and maintaining good customer relations and to accurately complete paperwork required to track and service customers. Performs other duties not directly stated below, as instructed by either the Manager or Assistant Manager.

Responsibilities
Customer Relations / Business Development
  • Greets and interacts with the customers in a friendly, professional, and inviting manner
  • Explains the SpeeDee Franchise Organization preventative maintenance services and pricing structure in order to achieve high customer satisfaction and increased sales.
  • Reviews services performed and bills out the customer
  • Obtains any technical information from manager or tune-up technicians in response to questions from customers
  • Presents all promotional materials to customers
  • Maintains marketing programs as directed by manager
  • Answers telephone in an approved manner
  • Works to maintain a team effort of quality customer service
Shop Operations
  • Maintains spotless customer service/office area
  • Maintains spotless customer restrooms
  • Greets and writes up work orders for customers when business trends dictate the need
  • Conforms to the standards and procedures prescribed by the SpeeDee Franchise Organization Daily Operations Manual and store policies
  • Maintains appointment scheduler
  • Maintains operations of office computer system and daily cash receipts
  • Help technician team if needed
Requirements
  • Must have experience in automotive industry
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Commitment to excellence at all levels of service
  • Good communication skills and upbeat personality
  • Maintains a professional appearance.
  • Valid state driver's license
  • Must be able to work on weekend
  • Highly preferred Bilingual: English and Spanish
  • Must have computer Skills. This position is required computers skills in operating and computer applications that schedule service appointments. As well as prepare and print invoices and receive payments in POS system. With command of email or social media, cashiers may assist in reminders to customers for maintenance, service or promotions by the shop.
  • Math Skills. Must be able to add or use machines to total charges, multiply to calculate any discounts and subtract to return change to customers. Counting bills or coins also forms part of the automotive cashier job description.
  • Customer Service Skills: ability to deliver quality service to customers. Cashiers need to accurately, promptly and courteously inform customers about prices, the parts and services and expected completion times. Customer service also entails good listening skills in order to understand customers needs and problems and to relay information from service technicians.
  • Physical Skills: Required have to stand for long periods of time. Cashiers may walk frequently to retrieve receipts, keys to vehicles, communicate with technicians, parts from vender store/s or find customers. Some lifting of boxes, packages or parts may also occur during the work shifts
  • Other Duties and Responsibilities as directed by the Shop Manager or Assistant Shop Manager.
