About the Role
As a Shift Manager at Speedee Labs, you won't be leading a traditional restaurant-you'll be leading the team that helps McDonald's test for the future.
Speedee Labs is a global innovation center where new menu items, equipment, processes, and technology are developed, tested, and refined before being launched in restaurants around the world.
In this role, you'll oversee daily lab operations while guiding and developing a team. You'll play a key role in ensuring experiments are executed accurately, operations run smoothly, and global partners have an exceptional experience when visiting the lab.
Along the way, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, engineers, and global stakeholders while influencing how McDonald's operates on a worldwide scale.
Schedule & Pay
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday
  • Evenings & weekends OFF (on rare occasions evening remote work required)
  • Shift Times: Generally between 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (Shift End times can flex to as early as 1:30pm based on Lab needs)
  • Pay: $21.00 - $28.00 per hour

What You'll Learn & Do
As a Speedee Labs Shift Manager, you will lead both people and processes in a fast-paced innovation environment, gaining valuable leadership and operational experience.
In this role, you will:
• Lead and coach a team to deliver strong performance and engagement
• Oversee daily lab restaurant operations, including staffing, scheduling, and execution
• Ensure food safety, cleanliness, and operational standards are consistently met
• Support and execute innovation testing, including new menu items, equipment, and technology
• Collaborate with engineers, global teams, and leadership visitors to achieve experiment goals
• Create a positive and productive environment for global visitors, tours, and leadership sessions
• Develop team capability through training, feedback, and ongoing coaching
• Create various restaurant charts/documents for operations testing to support market visits
A Day in the Life at Speedee Labs
On any given day, you may:
• Lead pre-shift meetings and align the team on daily priorities
• Coach team members in service, production, and operational standards
• Oversee experiments and ensure data is collected accurately
• Collaborate with global partners on test execution
• Support leadership tours, tastings, and global visitor engagements
• Monitor food safety, cleanliness, and overall lab readiness
• Analyze performance and adjust plans to meet operational and innovation goals
