Job description

Transmotion is looking for a driven, hardworking, and enthusiastic Shipping & Receiving Associate to join our team of experts at our De Pere, WI location. This position reports to the Production Manager and will assist in the day-to-day shipping, receiving, and inventory control activities.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm and overtime as needed

Job Overview: Reporting to the Production Manager, the Shipping & Receiving Associate is responsible for managing the inflow and outflow of goods in the warehouse or docks, ensuring accurate, timely, and safe processing of shipments. Key responsibilities include unloading, inspecting, and storing of incoming items; packing, labeling, and shipping outgoing orders; maintaining inventory records; and operating equipment such as a forklift. At times, this position will need to deliver products to customers within a one hour driving distance.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Stocking incoming products onto shelves.
  • Picking and pulling of parts for customer orders with a high level of accuracy.
  • Coordinate logistics, shipping and receiving details with external carriers (ex.- UPS, FedEx, SpeeDee and LTL). Complete data entry in computer system.
  • Breaking down skids from incoming shipments.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records and flow of product to the production floor.
  • Pull and deliver the product to the proper inventory location, department, or personnel.
  • Operating a forklift (training provided).
  • Support continuous improvement and quality objectives.
  • Adhere to established company policies and procedures.
  • This position will be cross trained in various areas of the business.
  • Follows safety standards, policies and procedures.
  • Actively participant with the VAC vision, mission, and values. Integrate each by aligning performance goals and business initiatives to ensure objectives are achieved.

  • Requires ability to safely lift 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques.
  • Previous working knowledge of hydraulic components is a plus.
  • Experience with ERP systems; Epicor experience a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Outlook is a plus

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record are required
  • Forklift certified is a plus

Work Environment:

In a shipping & receiving position, you will be using vision, hearing, hands, fingers, and arms frequently while standing or sitting for long periods of time. Additionally, speaking with coworkers to troubleshoot shipping & receiving concerns to complete tasks. The individual will require fine motor skills, using fingers, hands, and arms to lift and operate tools and equipment that is specific to the position. Everyone must wear required personal protective equipment which may include safety glasses, gloves, ear plugs, shoes, and other items as it pertains to the job duties. Able to see details or objects at a close range will be necessary for tasks while safely operating equipment, reading product labels, documents, or identifying specific items. Most duties will be performed in areas that are not climate controlled; production area and loading dock.
