At TX-STAR Speech Language Services, we partner with schools across Texas to provide qualified professionals who support student success and help schools meet the needs of their learners. We are currently hiring Paraprofessionals / Instructional Assistants for school-based opportunities in the San Antonio area.

This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about working with students, supporting classroom instruction, and making a meaningful difference in the educational experience of children with diverse learning needs.

What You'll Do

As a Paraprofessional in a school setting, you will work alongside teachers and campus staff to provide instructional and behavioral support to students.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide classroom support to students under the direction of the classroom teacher and campus leadership
  • Assist students with academic activities, assignments, and classroom routines
  • Support implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and student accommodations as directed
  • Provide individual and small-group support to students with varying learning needs
  • Assist with student transitions, organization, and daily classroom activities
  • Support positive behavior strategies and reinforce classroom expectations
  • Help maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other school personnel
  • Assist students with personal care needs when required by the assignment
  • Follow campus policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements

What You'll Need

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous experience working with children, students, or individuals with disabilities preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a school team
  • Patience, flexibility, and a passion for helping students succeed
  • Ability to follow teacher direction and implement classroom support strategies
  • Completion of required background screening and district requirements
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
