Job description

Spectrum Paint is hiring for new openings in the Distribution/Warehouse department.

CDL Delivery Driver - Class B with Hazmat endorsement is required.

The CDL Driver is responsible for transporting high-quality products from distribution centers to Spectrum Paint Stores and Warehouses. Hot Shot and backup route driver. Possible overnights are available with an additional $150 per day overnight per diem added. When not on the road, other tasks will include using a forklift/picker to pick orders, driving for local store deliveries, general warehouse tasks, such as restocking, loading inventory, etc.

The schedule is Monday through Friday.

Compensation: $19.00 to $22.00 - depending on experience and licensure.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Follow designated routes and ensure merchandise is delivered promptly
  • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
  • Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
  • Complete and submit all required paperwork, invoices, and load sheets within the appropriate time frames
  • Load and unload merchandise using a forklift when necessary
  • Report all vehicle-related issues urgently
  • Other duties as assigned by the Regional Manager or Distribution Manager.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Must have a valid and unrestricted Class B CDL License
  • HazMat Certification preferred but not mandatory (will need to attain if hired)
  • A clean driving record is required – DMV background check will be performed
  • Must have a current DOT Medical Card or be able to get one after employment.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must be registered or able to register with the Clearing House
  • Ability to comply with all DOT regulations (daily vehicle inspections, daily trip logbook, etc.)
  • Capable of passing a background check and a drug screen
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers and the store team
  • Ability to operate motorized forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely, we will train.
  • Ability to load/unload the delivery vehicle
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and adapt to changes in schedule
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. frequently – warehouse duties required as needed
  • Frequently able to stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, kneel, stoop, overhead reach, lift, grip, and carry to move products about the store or for customers.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work well with all personality types
  • Basic computer skills and math skills
  • High school diploma or comparable certification (GED)

Candidates must be able to pass a background check and MVR check, as applicable for the role.

This job requires standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, walking, reaching overhead, gripping, squatting, lifting, and carrying the product to and from the delivery and customer vehicles, as well as to areas within the store and possible job delivery sites.
