Territory Sales Manager – Process Systems

It is with a global leader in engineered equipment solutions for material processing, the company has a rich history spanning multiple decades and is known for its innovative and high-performing solutions for industries requiring efficient material handling, preparation, and processing. This is a REMOTE based position, with the condition that candidates live in IN, IL, MI or OH.
Overview:
A global manufacturer of industrial processing systems is hiring a Territory Sales Manager preferably located in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio or Michigan. This fully remote role involves consultative technical sales of capital equipment such as hammermills, crushers, lump breakers, and shredders, used in industries ranging from chemical and food processing to biomass and minerals. Candidates must be comfortable managing complex sales cycles and working hands-on with application teams and customer testing operations. Territory includes coverage of business in the Northeastern United States. Overnight travel will be in the 50% neighborhood to start and then pair down considerably after that moving forward.
  • Sell products requiring extensive technical expertise and support for installation and operation
  • Travel throughout the assigned territory, visiting customers on a consistent, recurring basis
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers while cultivating new leads within the territory
  • Manage multiple customer accounts simultaneously
  • Confer with customers and engineers to assess technical needs and propose effective solutions
  • Discuss mechanical and process equipment specifications knowledgeably with engineers, plant personnel, and technical buyers
  • Educate customers on how products or services benefit them financially and operationally
  • Develop and execute strategies to generate new business within the sales territory
  • Keep company leadership informed of new business opportunities, account status, customer needs, and competitive developments
  • Stay current on company products, industry trends, competitive landscape, and market conditions to better serve client needs
  • Attend in-person and virtual meetings, trainings, trade shows, and industry events
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and provide on-site field support at customer locations
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations that clearly explain products and services to customers and prospects
  • Provide technical and non-technical support to clients and staff on equipment use, operation, and maintenance
  • Document sales activity and maintain accurate customer and lead records in the CRM system per management guidelines


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in business or a technical discipline
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to “talk technical” with customers in engineering, manufacturing and similar.
  • Preferred background: Candidates with exposure to the animal feed manufacturing space are strongly encouraged to apply. This includes experience with process equipment such as hammermills, pellet mills, extruders, dryers/coolers, or similar mechanical processing equipment used in feed, grain, or related bulk material handling industries. Familiarity with the technical/mechanical side of capital equipment sales in agricultural, industrial processing, or manufacturing environments is a significant plus.
