Operations Manager

Location: Office-based, with regular travel to commercial client sites and our second office location

Job Type: Full-Time

Reports To: Owner (this role operates with a high degree of day-to-day autonomy)

Compensation: $60,000–$75,000 annually, based on experience (paid weekly)

Smart Choice Cleaning is a growing cleaning company serving both commercial and residential clients, offering general cleaning and janitorial services alongside specialty services like carpet, upholstery, tile, and rug cleaning. We're known for reliable service and strong client relationships, and we're looking for an organized, hands-on professional to help run the office and keep our accounts running smoothly.

Job Summary

The Operations Manager runs the day-to-day of Smart Choice Cleaning. This role blends front-office administration, scheduling, and hands-on management of both commercial and residential accounts — including client visits, quality inspections, hiring, and supply coordination. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating independently and making sound decisions with minimal day-to-day supervision, across all of our service lines (general cleaning, carpet, upholstery, tile, and rugs).

Key Responsibilities

Office & Financial Administration

Deposit checks and process incoming payments

Enter customer payments into the CRM system

Client Account Management (Commercial & Residential)

Visit commercial clients on-site to maintain strong working relationships

Conduct quality inspections at commercial client locations

Respond to residential client needs and inquiries

Provide estimates for both commercial and residential jobs, across general cleaning and specialty services (carpet, upholstery, tile, and rug cleaning)

Meet with commercial clients on-site to present proposals for janitorial services

Scheduling & Logistics

Schedule cleaning jobs and coordinate crew assignments

Drop off supplies at our second office location as needed

Client Relations & Front Office

Answer incoming phone calls and respond to client inquiries (commercial and residential)

Human Resources

Handle hiring and staffing for open positions

Qualifications

Prior experience in office administration, operations, or a similar coordinating role

Comfortable with basic bookkeeping tasks (payments, deposits)

Demonstrated ability to work independently and make sound day-to-day decisions with minimal supervision

Experience with CRM software (or ability to learn quickly)

Strong communication and customer service skills

Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (for client site visits and supply drop-offs)

Prior experience in the cleaning, janitorial, or facilities services industry a plus

Familiarity with specialty services (carpet, upholstery, tile, and rug cleaning) a plus

Prior hiring/staffing experience a plus

Comfortable preparing and presenting service proposals to prospective commercial clients
