Job description

Title​: Youth Services Coordinator
​​Department: Resident Empowerment
Pay Grade: M
Target Salary Range: $51,000-$63,800

Position Summary:
The Youth Services Coordinator is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and management of strategy and initiatives that are specifically designed to advance early childhood education, K-12 educational development, attainment and enhancement, post-secondary education and encourage lifelong learning and self-sufficiency among youth served by AH.  This role is pivotal in delivering services that emphasize Economic Empowerment. Educational advancement, Character and Leadership, and Health amp; Wellness.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • ​​Supports and implements and strategies and initiatives for early childhood education, K-12 educational development, attainment and enhancement, post-secondary education and encourage lifelong learning and self-sufficiency among youth served by AHA
  • Assist with organizing youth services, events, and initiatives, including scholarships, college exploration, and literacy initiatives through Book Rich Environments, and Santa for a Day.
  • Conduct outreach and community engagement to recruit youth and involve families, using phone calls, flyers, and door-to-door visits.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with local officials, community groups, and service providers to expand youth opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of services and referrals, support monthly event promotion, and represent AH at meetings and community forums.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in social services or a related field is preferred.
  • Three (3) years of experience working with youth of all ages is required.
  • Demonstrated capacity to manage relationships with partners and oversee contracts and grants.
  • Knowledge of how to promote positive youth development using a restorative approach required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong understanding of youth populations and their unique needs.
  • Knowledge of best practices for monitoring and evaluating contracted social services.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to build effective working relationships with internal teams and external partners.
  • Highly organized with proficiency in using current office technology and software applications.
  • Flexible and capable of supporting special projects as needed.
  • Perform other special project duties as assigned.

Working Conditions
Works in an office environment and community settings. May engage in frequent community-based meetings for resident programming and events. Travel within Atlanta city limits, home visits and program site visits are required. May require some bending, stooping, reaching and prolonged sitting. May require some lifting usually not exceeding 10 lbs. Must have and maintain a valid state of Georgia driver’s license and be fully insurable for the purpose of obtaining clearance on company “Authorized Drivers List”. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends, as needed.
