• Nursing content will be infused throughout the cirriculum.
• Students will engage in learning experiences at area healthcare facilities, including a 40-plus-hour clinical internship.
• Nurses and other area health professionals will teach and mentor students.
• All students will earn a certified nursing assistant (CNA) certificate or other healthcare workforce credentials so they can earn while they learn.
• Students will dually enroll in college courses at no cost. They will learn what it takes to succeed in college and earn credits they can transfer to reduce the time and money they spend earning a degree.

Position Overview:

The Spanish Teacher at NursesMC™ Nashville plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, student-centered, data informed instruction aligned with the organization's mission to prepare a diverse and professional nursing workforce. This role involves implementing rigorous instructional strategies, fostering a culture of learning, and supporting students' academic, social and emotional growth. Teachers at NursesMC™ Nashville work collaboratively with school leadership, colleagues, and families to ensure students excel academically and develop the skills necessary for the future success in the nursing and healthcare fields. By employing data-driven practices, evidence-based teaching methods, and differentiated instruction, the Teacher will contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and equity within the classroom and broader school community.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Instructional Excellence:
• Teach content and skills certified secondary topics aligned with state standards, ACT benchmarks, and NursesMC™ curricula, demonstrating dept of knowledge in the subject matter.
• Develop lesson plans and materials consistent with the NursesMC™-Nashville mission, vision, and state standards while supporting students' academic, social, emotional, and personal health growth connecting content to nursing and allied health applications.
• Design student activities that are meaningful, sequential, and aligned with the NursesMC™-Nashville mission and real-world nursing applications.
• Differentiate instruction, lessons, and assessments based on student needs, collaborating with the Student Academic Support Team (SAST) to accommodate ILPs, PLPs, IEPs, 504 plans, and ELL needs.
• Utilize data to drive instruction and intervention.
• Provides individual and small group instruction designed to meet individual needs and motivate students in pull out and/or classroom setting.
• Assist with designing intervention and monitoring response to intervention for students who need additional support.
• Student Support and Classroom Environment:
• Collaborate with the Student Support Team, Grade Level MTSS teams, and families to address students' educational, health, and emotional needs.
• Monitor and adjust student interventions and care plans to ensure they are effective and meet individual needs.
• Create a respectful and supportive classroom environment that fosters positive relationships among students and promotes collaboration.
• Establish a culture of learning with high expectations for academic and professional growth, supported by verbal and nonverbal encouragement.
• Maintain classroom routines and procedures to optimize learning time and provide a clean, organized, and distraction-free environment.
• Uphold the school's high standards for student behavior and professionalism.

• Build community by partnering with families on their student's academic success and personal development.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including grades, attendance, behavior, and communication logs with students and families, to ensure compliance with school policies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Spanish or a related field (required). Master's degree preferred.
• Three years of teaching experience, preferably in an urban or charter school setting.

Licensure Requirements (Tennessee Department of Education):

Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:

• Have an active Tennessee teaching license with an endorsement in Spanish PREK-12, OR
• Actively enrolled in a TDOE-approved Job-Embedded Program

Other requirements

• Criminal background clearance with fingerprinting
• Proof of U.S. citizenship, residency or work visa

• Pay Range: Starting at $55,500, based on years of experience in a K-12 school and education level.
