Manager, CSC Engineering

Role Overview
The Manager, CSC Engineering leads the engineering function within the Commissioning Support Center (CSC), driving the development, standardization, and continuous improvement of technical frameworks that support commissioning execution across the fleet. This role provides technical leadership, establishes standards and procedures, and ensures alignment across engineering, planning, and commissioning teams to improve quality, reduce risk, and enhance organizational capability.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead development and continuous improvement of engineering standards and work practices for commissioning.
  • Ensure consistency and quality of engineering procedures, specifications, and methodologies.
  • Serve as technical authority for CSC engineering decisions and governance.
  • Oversee creation and maintenance of commissioning procedures and standards.
  • Drive process improvements based on field feedback, lessons learned, and nonconformities.
  • Ensure procedures align with project requirements, safety standards, and industry best practices.
  • Provide oversight and technical guidance for control systems, including logic development and integration.
  • Support complex troubleshooting efforts for high-risk or recurring commissioning issues.
  • Review control system specifications and commissioning scope to ensure contract compliance.
  • Identify technical risks early and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Provide engineering support for vibration analysis, rotor balancing, and system performance issues.
  • Champion development of commissioning tools, analytics, and digital capabilities.
  • Lead and mentor engineering team members, developing technical depth across key disciplines.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration with planning and commissioning teams.
  • Integrate field lessons learned into engineering standards and execution practices.
  • Support incident response, technical reviews, and continuous process improvement initiatives.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 8-12 years of experience in power plant engineering, commissioning, or field operations.
  • Strong background in control systems, commissioning processes, and technical procedure development.
  • Experience with root cause analysis and troubleshooting of complex systems.
  • Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of combined-cycle power plant systems (gas turbine, steam turbine, HRSG, BOP).
  • Strong communication and leadership skills across technical and operational teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and collaboration platforms.
  • Preferred: bilingual Spanish and English.
