CONTINUING EDUCATION INSTRUCTOR - SPANISH BILINGUAL INSTRUCTOR
KENNENDY-KING COLLEGE

Kennedy-King College is seeking dynamic and community-focused Spanish-Bilingual Instructors to develop and deliver high-quality continuing education courses for Spanish-speaking learners. This position plays a critical role in expanding access to lifelong learning opportunities, workforce development programs, personal enrichment courses, and community education initiatives. The successful candidate will provide engaging instruction in Spanish, support student success, foster an inclusive learning environment, and partner with community organizations to increase awareness and enrollment in Spanish-language programming.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Instruction and Student Success

  • Develop and deliver engaging, learner-centered instruction in Spanish.
  • Create course materials, lesson plans, and curriculum appropriate for adult learners.
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback to support achievement and retention.
  • Maintain accurate attendance, participation, and program records.
  • Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and culturally responsive learning environment.
  • Adapt instructional methods to address diverse learning styles and educational backgrounds.

Program Development

  • Design new Spanish-language courses and educational programming that align with community needs.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve curriculum content and instructional delivery.
  • Support workforce development, personal enrichment, and lifelong learning initiatives.
  • Develop instructional content for beginner, intermediate, and advanced learners.

Community Outreach and Recruitment

  • Conduct outreach and community engagement activities to promote Continuing Education offerings.
  • Build partnerships with community organizations, schools, churches, businesses, and workforce agencies.
  • Support student recruitment and retention efforts.
  • Assist in marketing and growing enrollment for Spanish-language programming.
  • Represent Kennedy-King College at community events and outreach activities.

Technology and Administrative Responsibilities

  • Utilize Microsoft Office applications and virtual learning platforms effectively.
  • Deliver instruction in both in-person and virtual environments, as needed.
  • Communicate professionally with students and staff through email and other communication tools.
  • Collaborate with Continuing Education, Marketing and Communications, Student Services, Community Engagement, and Campus Operations teams.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate degree from an accredited institution OR an equivalent combination of education, industry certifications, professional training, and relevant professional experience.
  • Fluency in spoken and written Spanish and English.
  • Experience teaching, training, facilitating, or presenting information to adult learners or community groups.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse populations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Adult Education, Spanish, Workforce Development, Human Services, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience teaching adult education, workforce training, personal enrichment, or community-based programs.
  • Experience recruiting students and conducting community outreach initiatives.
  • Curriculum development and lesson-planning experience.
  • Knowledge of virtual learning platforms and online instruction strategies.

  • Bilingual Spanish/English communication proficiency.
  • Adult learning and instructional facilitation expertise.
  • Curriculum development and classroom management skills.
