Silvus Technologies

Job description

Following its acquisition by Motorola Solutions, Silvus is entering a new phase of scale and strategic impact.  We are expanding our Strategic Growth organization to shape demand early, influence requirements, and embed Silvus technologies into future programs of record across the U.S. Department of Defense.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Silvus is seeking a Market Development Executive, U.S. Air Force & Space Force who will report to the Vice President of Strategic Growth on the Sales team.  The successful individual in this role will serve as Silvus' senior market-shaping leader across the air and space enterprise. This role is responsible for influencing capability requirements, strengthening advocacy within major modernization and advanced battle management programs, and driving long-term strategic engagement across AFLCMC, Space Systems Command, operational wings, and mission partners.

This position is not transactional sales. Instead, this is a strategic influence role - focused on shaping demand, positioning Silvus Technologies early in emerging programs, and ensuring transitions to Business Development and Capture teams for downstream execution.  This position is eligible for 100% remote work depending on location with a preference for this individual to have proximity to key USAF commands.

The following is a list of at least some of the current essential job functions of the position. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities at any time at its discretion.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Market Shaping & Strategic Engagement
  • Leverage senior-level relationships across AFLCMC, SSC, operational MAJCOMs (e.g., ACC, AMC, AFSOC, PACAF), and Space Force Deltas to influence requirements and secure advocacy for Silvus networking technologies.
  • Position Silvus within joint and service-driven future architectures including:
    • Advanced Battle Management System (ABMS)
    • Operational Imperative initiatives
    • Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2)
    • Resilient and contested communications for air and space missions
  • Drive alignment to capability roadmaps supporting distributed airborne networks, beyond-line-of-sight C2, autonomous systems, and multi-security transport.

Strategic Coordination

  • Serve as the senior "market anchor" across Air & Space Force pursuits - ensuring coordinated engagement among Strategic Growth, DoD Sales, OEM/Prime Sales, Engineering, and Product teams.
  • Synchronize advocacy strategies with Motorola Solutions and MSI Government Affairs to support planning, programming, and budget influence activities.
  • Ensure unified messaging and integrated customer-facing strategies for priority programs.
Intelligence & Influence
  • Provide continuous insight into USAF/USSF modernization priorities, acquisition pathways (e.g., Middle Tier Rapid Acquisition), and future force design.
  • Build Silvus presence into POR pipeline opportunities at the earliest stage.
  • Represent Silvus at senior DoD and industry forums - promoting leadership in contested air/space connectivity and spectrum operations.
Accountability & Impact
  • Develop and execute the Air & Space Force Market Development Plan, including shaping objectives, key relationships, and transition milestones for downstream BD owners.
  • Ensure multi-year program opportunities are identified early and matured into the long-range revenue plan.

Travel Requirements - up to 50% as needed, to maintain strong customer engagement and relationships.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • A minimum of 8 years of demonstrated experience in strategic relationship management, account management, or government relations within the defense industry.
  • Prior U.S. Air Force / Space Force service or senior leadership experience supporting relevant mission areas such as C5ISR, airborne communications, space systems, or autonomous platforms.
  • Established, verifiable network within key USAF/USSF organizations (e.g., AFLCMC Directorates, Space Systems Command, AFSOC, test units, and operational wings).
  • Expert knowledge of USAF/USSF mission structure, budgeting, and governance processes.
  • Demonstrated experience influencing acquisition and capability development in the DoD environment.
  • Exceptional executive-level communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strategic thinking capability to independently drive long-range campaign planning.
  • Security Clearance: Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain one within 12 months of hire.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts.
  • All employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check and drug test.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
  • History of transitioning advanced communications technologies into Air Force or Space Force programs or fielding efforts.
  • Familiarity with airborne networking, resilient space-ground communications, and EW/spectrum dominance challenges in contested environments.
  • Track record of successfully shaping requirements for major DoD programs.

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Office environment.
  • Trade shows.
  • Outdoor environment for demonstrations.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to do the following:
    • Lift equipment up to 50 lbs. for the set-up of demonstrations and testing.
    • Perform bending and reaching movements to place items on lower and higher shelves.
