Experienced Hotel Front Desk Agent

Log Cabin/Delaney Hospitality Group

Holyoke, MA • On-site

Job description

We are looking for an experienced, dependable Front Desk Agent to join our hospitality team.

This position is ideal for someone who already understands that a hotel front desk is much more than checking guests in and out. We are looking for a professional who is comfortable taking ownership of the guest experience, paying attention to details, anticipating problems, and working confidently with guests, coworkers, and management.

Previous hotel, hospitality, or strong customer-service experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Review reservations carefully before and during arrival
  • Welcome guests and provide a professional, friendly check-in and check-out experience
  • Verify guest information, payment methods, authorizations, room assignments, and special requests
  • Review guest folios for accuracy and resolve discrepancies when necessary
  • Identify and prepare for VIP guests, special occasions, repeat guests, groups, and guests requiring additional attention
  • Monitor arrivals and departures and anticipate potential issues before they become guest problems
  • Answer phones and assist with reservations, hotel information, directions, amenities, and guest requests
  • Communicate effectively with housekeeping, maintenance, management, spa staff, and other departments
  • Assist guests with questions, concerns, and service recovery in a calm and professional manner
  • Process payments and maintain accurate guest and financial records
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk area
  • Follow hotel policies and procedures while using good judgment when unexpected situations arise
  • Help create the warm, polished, personal experience expected at a boutique hotel and spa
What We're Looking For

We are especially interested in candidates who have:

  • Previous hotel front desk or hospitality experience
  • Strong customer-service skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Confidence working independently and making decisions.
  • The ability to multitask without losing accuracy .Professional phone and in-person communication skills.
  • Comfort handling guest concerns and difficult situations.
  • Dependability and a strong work ethic.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn hotel reservation and property-management systems.
  • A team-oriented attitude and willingness to assist wherever needed.
  • Experience with a hotel PMS or reservation system is a plus.
The Right Person for This Position

The right candidate understands that great hospitality is about noticing the details.

You check the reservation before the guest arrives. You notice when something on a folio does not look right. You know when a VIP or special-occasion guest deserves additional attention. You communicate with housekeeping instead of simply waiting for a guest to complain. And when something goes wrong, you stay calm, take ownership, and work toward a solution.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in doing the job well and wants to be part of a professional hospitality team.

If you have hotel or strong customer-service experience and enjoy working directly with people, we would like to hear from you.

The Log Cabin/Delaney Hospitality Group values diversity and encourage individuals from all backgrounds to apply. Join us in creating memorable experiences for our guests and contribute to our legacy of excellence.
