Territory Sales Manager

Exempt

Summary: The Southeast Territory Sales Manager is responsible for managing and growing sales within a designated geographic region by developing strong relationships with distributors, OEMs, and end users. This role focuses on driving revenue growth through the promotion of Bitzer products and solutions, identifying new business opportunities, and providing technical support. The Territory Sales Manager will be expected to maintain a deep understanding of market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities. Success in this role is measured by achieving sales targets, maintaining high customer satisfaction, and strengthening Bitzer’s market presence.

Reports To: Regional Sales Director

Duties & Tasks

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to meet or exceed territory revenue targets.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key distributors, contractors, OEMs, and consulting engineers.
  • Provide product training and technical support to customers and sales partners.
  • Monitor competitor activities and market conditions to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals, and quotations to prospective customers.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (Engineering, Customer Service, Marketing) to meet customer expectations.
  • Attend trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings to promote Bitzer products.
  • Utilize CRM tools to manage sales activities, pipeline, and forecasting.
  • Conduct regular territory reviews and reporting for sales performance and activity metrics.

These key components include compressors, pressure vessels such as condensers and evaporators, compressor packages, and condensing units. Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

  • Sales Acumen: Strong knowledge of consultative selling strategies and the ability to close complex deals.
  • Technical Aptitude: Ability to understand and explain refrigeration and HVAC systems and components.
  • Customer Focus: Demonstrates strong customer relationship-building skills and responsiveness.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Problem Solving: Proactive in identifying customer issues and proposing effective solutions.
  • Organization & Planning: Ability to manage multiple priorities across a broad territory with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, or related field
  • Preferred: HVAC/R Certification or equivalent technical training
  • Minimum 5 years of sales experience in HVAC/R, manufacturing, or industrial equipment
  • Preferred: Experience with compressor technologies or refrigeration systems
  • Strong knowledge of CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce), MS Office Suite, and industry-specific applications

Work Environment:

  • This role is field-based with regular travel (up to 60%) within the assigned territory
  • Occasional work in customer mechanical rooms, rooftops, or manufacturing environments
  • PPE may be required when visiting industrial or commercial sites
  • Home office setup required for administrative duties

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent driving and air travel
  • Ability to stand, walk, and present for extended periods
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs (e.g., product samples, display materials
