ย Summary:ย The Strategic Account Manager is responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of high-value shipper accounts within a freight brokerage environment. This role focuses on long-term customer partnerships, revenue growth, and delivering optimized transportation solutions across multiple modes.ย 


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned strategic accountsย 
  • Develop and execute account growth plans to increase revenue, margin, and share of walletย 
  • Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts (lanes, modes, services)ย 
  • Monitor and analyze account performance (KPIs such as on-time delivery, cost, and service levels)ย 
  • Collaborate with internal teams (carrier sales, operations, customer service) to ensure ย ย ย ย ย service excellenceย 
  • Proactively resolve service issues and provide continuous improvement recommendationsย 
  • Stay informed on market trends, capacity conditions, and pricing fluctuations
  • Solve problems proactivelyโ€”capacity issues, service failures, cost optimization
  • Negotiate competitive rates with carriers while maintaining profit margins
  • Source and secure carrier capacity for open freight shipments
  • Manage daily load coverage to ensure all shipments are booked and executed on time
  • Maintain accurate load and carrier data in TMS systems
