TV Studio Assistant - 2026/27

JOB SUMMARY

TV Studio Assistants help provide support for the activities and courses of the Visual Sound Media areas of CHDCM. Reporting to the Visual Media Engineers, TV Studio Assistants are expected to take on responsibilities in the operation of our media production spaces and use of related equipment.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist in the support of all aspects of live Studio Television Production prior to, during, and after the classes/tapings/recordings in the College's media studio spaces; this includes help with troubleshooting, moving set pieces, and overall support of smooth visual media production

Assist in the process of equipment check-in/check-out for all field/digital cinema production equipment and managing inventory

Student workers may also participate in other production related projects, as needed, including live production and post-production editing

Must follow all protocols to ensure all production equipment is properly handled and stored, while also helping to keep production spaces clean and safe

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Federal Work Study (FWS) eligibility is required

Must have an interest and willingness to learn about studio, field and cinema production

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Priority will be given to students in the Visual Sound Media major within the College of Human Development, Culture, and Media

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

Work is performed in a live-to-tape television production environment and may require extended periods of time both at attention and moving around in the studio; some work may require lifting heavy equipment, though accommodations can be made.
