Job description

Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio is currently seeking a part-time Material Handler to join our team at the North Canton outlet store!

As a material handler, you will move donated materials, salvage commodities, refuse, equipment/fixtures, or other designated materials on/off trucks, and properly sort them into the designated locations within the store. You will also assist in all areas of the salvage sorting process and cross-train to cover other specified job descriptions as needed.

Primary duties include moving donated materials, salvage commodities, trash, equipment/fixtures, or other designated materials on/off trucks, and sorting them properly into designated locations within the store. Will assist in all areas of the salvage sorting process and cross-train to cover other specified job descriptions within the plant as needed. Provide excellent customer service to the stores, admin, and all other vendors/donors.

Specific Experience/Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience with the operation of personal computers preferred
  • Ability to operate all tipping equipment.
  • Ability to use all appropriate safety PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and follow all safety practices.
  • Know different shades and tones of color.
  • Know merchandise within a variety of categories.

Basic Requirements:

  • High school diploma preferred or GED.
  • Ability to work varied hours, evenings, weekends and holidays a must perform physical requirements of position including but not limited to: constant standing, constant bilateral reach and handling ability; constant fingering and pinch grip; requires constant ability to lift/carry up to 10 lbs.; may require constant shoulder height reaching with either hand and firm grasp; frequent bending; may squat; requires frequent ability to push/pull less than 20 lbs.
