Role Summary:

The Director, Data Solutions & Engineering is responsible for developing and executing the company’s data engineering vision, ensuring that data infrastructure, architecture, and platforms support business growth, innovation, and digital transformation. Your expertise in data, analytics, and technology will be instrumental in ensuring that we remain competitive, secure, and adaptable in a rapidly evolving business landscape. The primary focus will be on solving business problems and driving results through advanced analytics. The role will also work on enabling various data to more nibbly flow to external partners helping us drive scale, but also making data more accessible for reporting and structured in a way that the future of AI can better enable less sophisticated users to self-serve their own insights/answers. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated leader and problem-solver who works cross functionally across various departments.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and implement the data engineering strategy.

  • Lead and mentor the data engineering team.

  • Develop and align data engineering strategies with business objectives.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to establish data governance and access control policies.

  • Supervise the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines and architectures using Azure Data services.

  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure data solutions meet business needs.

  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all platforms.

  • Foster innovation and continuous improvement in data engineering practices.

  • Manage budgets, resources, and timelines for data engineering projects.

  • Stay informed about the latest trends and advancements in data engineering.

  • Maintain data quality and integrity for analytical purposes.

  • Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.

  • Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.

  • Proven ability to deliver impactful data-driven solutions and lead teams effectively.

  • Develop strategies to make data environments more user-friendly and accessible for non-technical stakeholders.

  • Implement tools and practices that enable broader access to data insights across the organization.

  • Increase the ease and speed of data integration both within internal systems as well as between internal and external systems

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in computer science, Data Engineering, Engineering or a related field.

  • 10+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

  • Expertise in Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data services (Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL Database, etc.).

  • Strong understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and ETL processes.

  • Proven experience in managing large-scale data projects and teams.

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Proven track record in implementing AI and machine learning solutions within data environments.

Preferred Skills:

  • Project Management, Agile Development, Full-Stack Azure with certifications from Azure, Databricks, or Snowflake.

  • Experience with other Microsoft Technologies (Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure Data Ops).

  • Certification in Microsoft Azure.
