Job Title: Project Manager – Roadway & Pavement Marking DivisionJob Description

This full-time Project Manager role leads the Road Division, ensuring pavement marking and roadway safety projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and on schedule. You will oversee day-to-day operations, manage budgets and resources, support field teams, and maintain strong communication with clients and internal stakeholders. Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day operations for pavement marking and roadway safety projects, ensuring work runs safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
  • Plan and organize work, including scheduling crews and coordinating equipment, materials, and resources for multiple concurrent projects.
  • Manage project budgets by tracking costs, monitoring financial performance, and implementing effective cost control measures.
  • Maintain project schedules by sequencing activities, identifying critical path tasks, and adjusting plans to keep jobs on track.
  • Lead and support field teams by providing clear direction, setting expectations, and fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
  • Ensure clear, consistent communication between field staff, office personnel, clients, inspectors, and other stakeholders.
  • Work closely with clients and inspectors to align on project requirements, address concerns, and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Identify potential issues early in the project lifecycle, develop solutions quickly, and implement corrective actions to minimize impact.
  • Ensure all work complies with Department of Transportation (DOT) standards, project specifications, and internal company policies.
  • Monitor performance, quality, and safety throughout each project, conducting regular reviews and site visits as needed.
  • Prepare, review, and manage change orders, work orders, and related documentation to accurately reflect project scope and changes.
  • Oversee project estimation activities, including take-offs and quantity calculations, to support accurate bids and budgets.
  • Use project management software and tools to track progress, document activities, and report on project status.
  • Coordinate project close-out activities, including final inspections, documentation, and financial reconciliation.
  • Capture and document lessons learned at project completion to improve processes and outcomes on future projects.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on operations planning and continuous improvement initiatives across the Road Division.
Essential Skills
  • 8+ years of construction or adjacent project management experience, with a focus on roadway, civil, or related projects.
  • Proven experience overseeing construction or civil projects from planning through close-out.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets, including cost tracking, cost control, and financial reporting.
  • Experience with construction take-offs, work orders, change orders, and project close-out processes.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Teams, and the broader Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience using project management software and tools for scheduling, documentation, and progress tracking.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving, high-volume project environment.
  • Proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify issues early and implement effective solutions.
  • Clear, professional communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with field staff, clients, inspectors, and internal teams.
  • Strong people leadership skills, including the ability to lead, support, and motivate field and office teams.
  • Familiarity with DOT standards and requirements related to roadway and civil projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Background in construction management, civil construction, or a closely related field.
  • Experience with operations planning for field crews and equipment-intensive work.
  • Hands-on experience with cost tracking, budgeting, and cost control tools or systems.
  • Experience with estimation processes, including take-offs and quantity calculations for roadway or pavement marking projects.
  • Familiarity with Sage or similar construction accounting and project management software.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance requirements for roadway safety and pavement marking projects.
  • Ability to contribute to continuous improvement by identifying process enhancements and operational efficiencies.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, in-person position within a Road Division focused on pavement marking and roadway safety projects. The role follows a seasonal schedule: during the off-season (January through March), you typically work around 40 hours per week; during the in-season (March through December), you work 40+ hours per week, including required overtime. Core hours are approximately 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The environment is a mix of office-based planning and field interaction, requiring regular coordination with crews, equipment, and materials. The culture emphasizes open communication and a family-style atmosphere where everyone is encouraged to know one another; employees commonly wear their names on their shirts to support cross-department interaction. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.49 - $72.16/hr.
