Atwell, LLC is a bold leader in the consulting, engineering, and construction services industry, delivering a broad range of creative solutions to clients in the real estate & land development, and energy markets. We have a strong national presence and a diverse, award-winning project portfolio. Atwell is a privately owned company, with 2,000+ passionate team members across 75+ locations and growing!

Atwell, LLC is a proud recipient of the following 2025 awards:

  • Ten consecutive years in a row as a "Best Place to Work" by Zweig Group (#11)
  • Recognized as #70 in the ENR Top 500 Design Firms, ranked in every region
  • Recognized in Crain's "Fast 50" as one of the fastest-growing companies (#14)
  • Recognized as the 2025 ENR Design Firm of the year for the Southeastern US

Job Description

Atwell is seeking a Land Solutions Project Manager to support a leading electric transmission client across a portfolio of high-voltage infrastructure and right of way (ROW) projects throughout Wisconsin, with a primary focus on the Green Bay and Milwaukee markets.

This role is remote, but candidates located in or near Green Bay or Milwaukee are strongly preferred due to the need for frequent in-person client engagement, stakeholder meetings, and site visits. This is a highly visible, client-facing role where your ability to build trust and represent Atwell locally will directly impact project success.

In this role, you will oversee land and ROW acquisition activities supporting electric transmission infrastructure — managing easement negotiations, rights of entry, surface agreements, damage settlements, and fee property transactions across active transmission corridors.

You'll establish project scope, budgets, and schedules; manage contracts and sub-consultants; and ensure performance metrics are met throughout the project lifecycle.

You'll also serve as a trusted advisor to the client, maintaining a consistent presence in the region, staying ahead of their project pipeline, following up on outstanding proposals, and identifying opportunities to expand Atwell's support. Internally, you'll manage project documentation in Vision, oversee invoicing and collections, and deliver regular financial and progress reporting to leadership. Coaching and mentoring your project team is a key part of how you operate.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Land Planning, Land Surveying, or equivalent
  • 4+ years of project management experience with a focus on electric transmission, utility infrastructure, or energy-related land and ROW work
  • Strong background in easement acquisition and land agreements specific to transmission or high-voltage infrastructure projects
  • Expertise negotiating ROW easements, surface leases, encroachment agreements, rights of entry, fee property, and damage settlements
  • Familiarity with FERC, state utility commission regulations, and property rights frameworks relevant to transmission development
  • Experience with Vision as a project management tool
  • AAPL or SR/WA certification is a plus
  • Ability and willingness to travel regionally throughout Wisconsin, with a focus on Green Bay and Milwaukee, for client-facing work

Who Thrives Here

You thrive in a fast-paced environment where long-term client relationships and complex land programs intersect. You're dependable, solutions-oriented, and confident in face-to-face client interactions. You bring a strong local presence, communicate with ease, and understand how to represent both your team and your client in the field.

You recognize the importance of being present — not just available — and you approach your projects with the accountability and ownership that transmission infrastructure demands. Regional travel is part of the role, and you embrace being on-site when it matters most.
