Job description

The Automation Project Manager is a cross‑functional leader responsible for the overall success of the Solutions Projects — from initial scope and requirements definition and estimating, to technical management of the solution, and overall project management from receipt of order through project closure. The role ensures projects are executed according to Faith Technologies Solutions' Group Best Practices.

Travel: Up to 30% nationwide.

Work Schedule: Typical work hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday; however, work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs.

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
  • Experience: Eight (8) years in the design of industrial automation control systems, building automation control systems, or power/energy automation control systems (multiple distributed energy resources preferred).
  • Experience: Three (3) years managing industrial, building, or power/energy automation projects, including budget, scope, and schedule responsibilities.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
  • Supports the proposal process as the Application Engineer, under the direction of department leaders.
  • Architects and finalizes the primary solution strategy.
  • Utilizes internal and external subject‑matter experts to ensure the proposed solution is properly defined according to customer requirements, company best practices and industry standards.
  • Defines and documents solution requirements that become the basis for executing and managing the project.
  • Develops the project estimate using internal and external resources to meet business targets.
  • Leads the technical management of the solution, developing detailed solution requirements, block diagram(s), theory of operation, and verification test plan.
  • Ensures scope management, ensuring the solution meets technical and business requirements, identifying and executing project change orders for out‑of‑scope items.
  • Financial management: responsible for project profit and loss, ensuring financial targets through data analysis and appropriate actions.
  • Communicates project status to the client.
  • Maintains a project WBS and schedule with tasks, resources, milestones, and deliverables; ensures resources are assigned and holds other department leaders accountable.
  • Quality management: ensures the solution meets project requirements and customer satisfaction.
  • Conducts project closeout and success reviews, applying best practices forward.
  • Develops and executes the project plan, including communication management with internal and external customers.
  • Manages risk, procurement, and documentation.
  • Assists in developing solutions' business best practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Performs related duties as required and assigned.
