Location: Onsite - Austin Information Technology Center (Austin, TX) Compensation Range: The pay range for this position is $130 - 147K annually. Kentro determines compensation by evaluating current government contracting and commercial market conditions, as well as the role's specific requirements. Final salary placement within this range will be based on the candidate's relevant skills, experience, education, certifications, location, and security clearance level, where applicable. This Job Description reflects the primary duties of the role; however, it is not intended to be all-inclusive. Team members may be asked to take on additional responsibilities in alignment with customer expectations, business needs, and Kentro's culture of collaboration and adaptability. Responsibilities * Provide support to enhance Event Management (EM) capabilities. Provide "eyes on glass" monitoring, via continuous dashboard monitoring, in-depth alert analysis, and early detection capabilities. * Notify system owners of issues detected by monitoring tools to maintain optimal system health, typically within 15 minutes. * Provide recommendations to improve the current VA monitoring environment via approved continuous improvement channels. * Assist in refining the monitoring processes and ensuring the robustness of the VA's application infrastructure. * Provide application performance monitoring to ensure that bedrock and critical applications, services, and technology systems meet established expectations for optimized performance, availability, and a consistent end-user experience. * Provide industry expertise and troubleshooting knowledge transfer for the use of monitoring tools to provide early detection of IT infrastructure or application performance issues. * Provide knowledge to helpdesk staff and Information Technology Specialist (ITS) staff on the use of monitoring diagnostic tools to pinpoint production issues. * Recommend policies and procedures in response to incidents and alerts. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline * 10 years of relevant Experience * 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education * Experience monitoring and analyzing application performance, desktop performance, and availability monitoring/reporting using available tools such as, but not limited to Dynatrace, SolarWinds and ServiceNow. * Ability to serve as a subject matter expert (SMEs) for application performance monitoring tools (as mentioned above) for new and onboarded applications, services, and provide onboard presentations during routine health checks. Preferred Qualifications: * Experience performing application or infrastructure real-time monitoring in a large-scale enterprise environment. * Well versed in Dynatrace and or Solarwinds. * Well developed IT problem solving ability. * Ability to efficiently and effectively communicate IT problems and impacts to a large group of stakeholders.
