Job Overview
Bone Dry Roofing is seeking a motivated and skilled solar electrician to join our growing team. This electrician position works on local job sites performing solar installation, electrical troubleshooting, repairs, and service work for residential and commercial projects. A company truck is provided for travel between work sites. We are looking for an electrician who takes pride in craftsmanship, values teamwork, and is committed to delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
  • Installation of Solar Panels: Execute the assembly and mounting of solar panels on various structures, ensuring optimal placement for maximum energy capture and efficiency.

  • Electrical Wiring and Connection: Connect solar panels to electrical systems, including inverters, batteries, and grid interconnection points. Ensure compliance with local electrical codes and safety standards.

  • System Testing and Commissioning: Conduct thorough testing of solar energy systems to verify proper functionality and performance. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during installation or commissioning.

  • Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance tasks on solar panels and associated equipment, such as cleaning, inspection, and system optimization. Diagnose and repair faults or malfunctions to restore system efficiency.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of installation activities, including equipment specifications, wiring diagrams, and test results. Generate reports detailing system performance and any maintenance or repair work completed.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of hands-on electrical experience

  • Proficiency in electrical wiring, circuitry, and systems installation, with a strong understanding of AC and DC electrical principles. 

  • Familiarity with solar photovoltaic (PV) technology, including panel types, mounting methods, and system components. 

  • Valid driver's license required

  • Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen

Work Environment
  • This position primarily involves working in the field at work sites

  • Must be able to work in varied weather conditions and in a physically demanding environment.

  • Must be able to occasionally lift and carry 50 lbs. 

  • Ability to climb ladders to determine work needs

Driving
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record that meets company and insurance requirements to travel to and from work sites.
