Job Description
Apex Clean Energy is seeking a Procurement Coordinator to join our Procurement Team to assist with preparing and coordinating the development and implementation of renewable energy projects through purchasing goods and services from external resources critical to project success. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Strategic Procurement within the Strategic Procurement Department, this position plays a vital part in the company's overall business strategy as it requires strategic planning and analysis to acquire these goods and services at the best possible value.
Our ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role or function and bring knowledge of renewable energy systems, engineering principles, project management processes, construction management processes, and procurement. Knowledge of renewable energy photovoltaic and battery storage systems is highly desirable. Experience with project preconstruction processes is essential.
Responsibilities
  • Assists the procurement team by qualifying suppliers to ensure that they comply with Apex's corporate policies.
  • Prepares formal requests for proposals for goods and services.
  • Evaluates project, consultant, and equipment proposals. Awards and rejects suppliers.
  • Monitors the supplier's performance in terms of delivery and pricing by interfacing with other internal Apex departments and team members.
  • Provides feedback to the Strategic Procurement Department and consultants/vendors.
  • Has knowledge of renewable energy systems, engineering principles, project management processes, and construction management processes.
  • Has experience with project preconstruction processes.
  • Analyze current market trends, risk, and price.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships within the renewable energy industry.
  • Communicate project and equipment status with multiple stakeholders.

Qualifications
To succeed as a Procurement Coordinator at Apex Clean Energy, you'll need to excel within the following criteria:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline from a university or college
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Solid and effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of the procurement process and experience negotiating contracts
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; acute awareness and ability to manage to numerous deadlines
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Project
  • Fundamental understanding of effective document control
  • Accuracy and attention to detail are a must
  • Knowledge of renewable energy systems, engineering principles, project management processes, and construction management processes
  • Experience with energy storage systems, solar and wind farms is highly desirable
  • Experience with project execution processes is essential
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships internally and externally
  • Demonstrated independent thinking, initiative, and creativity
  • Ability to function successfully both independently and within a team
  • Demonstrated professional appearance and conduct
