Express Employment Professionals in Lynchburg is partnering with a client in the Lynchburg area to add an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to a high‑precision solar panel manufacturing team. If automated equipment, mechanical systems, and safe, reliable throughput are your thing, read on.

Is this you?
  • Do you have 3+ years maintaining mechanical equipment in manufacturing or industrial environments?
  • Can you diagnose issues on conveyors, laminators, glass handlers, and robotic or PLC‑controlled systems using drawings, manuals, and inspections?
  • Are you confident replacing bearings, motors, gearboxes, belts, pumps, valves, and pneumatic/hydraulic parts?
  • Do you document your work in a CMMS and contribute to root cause and corrective actions?
  • Are you committed to LOTO, PPE, and hazard communication while working around heights, confined spaces, noise, and temperature changes?
Your impact
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to sustain quality and uptime.
  • Troubleshoot automated lines, robotic systems, conveyors, and precision assemblies.
  • Inspect equipment to spot wear, defects, safety concerns, and inefficiencies before they become downtime.
  • Tune, align, and adjust precision machinery to meet production specs.
  • Assist with installing, commissioning, and validating new equipment and upgrades.
  • Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and maintenance peers to enhance performance and prevent repeat failures.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area and report hazards immediately.
What you’ll need to succeed
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance/mechanical technology preferred.
  • Experience in solar, semiconductor, electronics, clean manufacturing, or similar settings preferred.
  • Solid grasp of mechanical systems—conveyors, pneumatics, hydraulics, rotating equipment.
  • Comfort reading mechanical drawings, schematics, technical manuals, and equipment documentation.
  • Hands‑on skill with hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement instruments.
  • Computer literacy for CMMS recordkeeping.
  • Familiarity with automated production, robotic cells, and PLC‑controlled equipment preferred.
  • Welding, fabrication, or machining experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of lean, 5S, and continuous improvement preferred.
  • Able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfort in production environments with varying temperatures and noise, plus heights and confined spaces as required.
Schedule and pay

$27–$29 per hour. Panama schedule with 12‑hour shifts on a fixed 3‑2‑2 rotation: 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off, then 2 days on and 2 days off.
