Your mission

Support a high‑precision solar panel manufacturing operation by owning the reliability of its mechanical assets. Express Employment Professionals in Lynchburg is recruiting a Precision Mechanical Maintenance Specialist for a client in the Lynchburg area to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment in a highly automated environment—safely, accurately, and with a continuous‑improvement mindset.

What success looks like
  • Equipment reliability and uptime improve through preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
  • Conveyors, laminators, glass handling systems, robotic systems, and automated lines are diagnosed and repaired quickly using drawings, manuals, inspections, and proven troubleshooting methods.
  • Bearings, motors, gearboxes, belts, pumps, valves, and pneumatic/hydraulic components are serviced or replaced to spec.
  • Precision equipment is aligned and adjusted to meet production and quality requirements.
  • Routine inspections proactively uncover wear, defects, safety concerns, and inefficiencies.
  • New equipment and process upgrades are installed, commissioned, and validated with minimal disruption.
  • CMMS records accurately reflect maintenance activities, parts usage, and work orders; data informs root cause analysis and corrective actions.

  • Work areas remain clean, organized, and safe; hazards and incidents are reported immediately.
Background and capabilities
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, mechanical technology, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of mechanical maintenance experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • Experience in solar, semiconductor, electronics, clean manufacturing, or similar settings preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of conveyors, pneumatics, hydraulics, and rotating equipment.
  • Able to interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, technical manuals, and equipment documentation.
  • Skilled with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Basic computer proficiency and CMMS documentation experience.
  • Familiar with automated production lines, robotic systems, and PLC‑controlled equipment (preferred).
  • Welding, fabrication, or machining experience (preferred).
  • Understanding of lean, 5S, and continuous improvement practices (preferred).
  • Physically able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working amid variable temperatures and noise, at heights, and in confined spaces as needed.
  • Safety‑first mindset with strict adherence to lockout/tagout, PPE, hazard communication, and company procedures.
Compensation and hours

Pay range: $27–$29 per hour. Schedule: Panama schedule with 12‑hour shifts on a fixed 3‑2‑2 rotation—3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off, then 2 days on and 2 days off.
