About Mountain West Consulting

Mountain West Consulting (MWC) is a growing project management, construction management and consulting firm specializing in large-scale energy infrastructure projects across the Western and Southern United States. We partner with developers, owners, and contractors to deliver industrial and commercial solar projects on time and on budget. As we expand our Texas portfolio, we are seeking a seasoned Senior Construction/Safety Manager to lead complex solar construction efforts from development through commissioning.


Role Overview

The Senior Construction Manager will own end-to-end project delivery for industrial and commercial-scale solar installations in Texas. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage owner-contractor relationships, drive schedule and budget performance, and serve as the primary point of accountability for project outcomes.


Key Responsibilities


Reviews project plans, maps, specifications, soil reports, lab testing results, contracts, and related documents for compliance with federal, state, county, and industry codes; identifies required changes and follows up as needed.

  • Oversees complex construction activities for new facilities, facility modifications, utilities, equipment installation, and exterior improvements.
  • Coordinates with project managers, architects, principals, site administrators, and other staff to align construction schedules and minimize operational disruption.
  • Inspects active job sites for safety concerns, including barricades, and ensures contractors follow applicable safety rules and regulations.
  • Partners with project managers, architects, principals, site administrators, and other staff to manage work activities and reduce disruption to ongoing operations.
  • Coordinates with EPC teams, subcontractors, utilities, and permitting agencies.
  • Proactively identifies and resolves issues to limit impacts to scope, schedule, and cost.
  • Ensures work complies with safety standards, local regulations, and project specifications.
  • Issues stop-work orders for safety-related concerns when necessary and may supervise assigned crews.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must pass applicable background check and pre-employment drug screening requirements.


Requirements:

Preferred certifications and training:

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field is required. An advanced degree is helpful. An equivalent combination of education and experience may substituted.
  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM)
  • OSHA 10/30, American Concrete Institute (ACI)
  • National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE)
  • LOTO, electrical safety, vertical construction safety, or other related certifications.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $110,000 – $140,000, commensurate with experience.
