What is a solar campaign?

A Solar Campaign is an organized effort to promote the adoption of solar energy, typically through public education, outreach, and advocacy. These campaigns may be run by nonprofits, government agencies, or companies, and aim to increase awareness of solar technology, its environmental benefits, and available incentives. Solar campaigns often encourage homeowners, businesses, or communities to install solar panels by providing information on costs, savings, and the installation process. The goal is to accelerate the transition to clean, renewable energy and reduce reliance on fossil fuels.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working on solar campaigns, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals working on solar campaigns often encounter challenges such as public misconceptions about solar technology, regulatory hurdles, and coordinating outreach across diverse communities. Successfully addressing these challenges involves staying updated on policy changes, leveraging clear and compelling communication strategies, and collaborating closely with stakeholders such as local governments, utility companies, and community organizations. Familiarity with CRM software, digital marketing tools, and data analytics platforms is often required. Outstanding communication, leadership, and organizational skills help in coordinating teams and engaging stakeholders effectively. These abilities are crucial for driving successful campaigns that increase awareness and adoption of solar energy solutions.

Job description

About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Google Ads Media Buyer with deep expertise in direct response lead generation to manage and scale campaigns across Search, Performance Max, Display, and YouTube.

You should have a proven track record of scaling Google Ads campaigns to $1M+ per month in spend while maintaining strict cost-per-lead (CPL) targets in competitive verticals like mortgage, solar, insurance, and home services.

This is a performance-driven role. You must understand how to turn ad spend into predictable, scalable lead flow — and how keyword strategy, bidding, landing pages, and data all work together to drive results.

What You'll Do

  • Plan, launch, and optimize campaigns across:
    • Google Search
    • Performance Max
    • Display
    • YouTube Ads
  • Scale campaigns from testing to high 6-figure / 7-figure monthly spend
  • Maintain and improve CPL targets while increasing lead volume
  • Build and optimize full-funnel lead generation systems (ad → landing page → lead → follow-up)
  • Analyze performance data daily and make rapid optimization decisions
  • Own keyword strategy, including:
    • Keyword research and match-type structuring
    • Negative keyword management
    • Search query mining for new opportunities
  • Manage bid strategy, budget allocation, and account/campaign structure
  • Collaborate closely with landing page designers and copywriters to:
    • Develop new ad copy and asset variations
    • Test ad copy, extensions, and assets at scale
    • Identify and scale winning ad groups
  • Continuously test and optimize:
    • Ad copy, assets, and offers
    • Audience signals and targeting layers
    • Landing pages and funnels
  • Implement and manage tracking systems:
    • Google Tag Manager, Conversion tracking, Enhanced Conversions
    • Offline conversion imports
    • CRM integrations

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years experience in Google Ads media buying (direct response focus)
  • Proven track record scaling campaigns to $500K–$1M+ monthly spend
  • Deep expertise in:
    • Google Ads (Search, PMax, Display) — required
    • YouTube Ads — strongly preferred
  • Experience in one or more of:
    • Mortgage
    • Solar
    • Insurance
    • Home services
  • Strong understanding of:
    • CPL optimization
    • Funnel metrics (CTR, CVR, CPA, LTV)
    • Bid strategy and Smart Bidding frameworks
  • Ability to work closely with creative/landing page teams and guide direction based on performance
  • Experience with lead generation funnels + CRM systems
  • Strong analytical mindset and fast decision-making ability

What Success Looks Like

  • You can consistently scale Google Ads campaigns profitably
  • You hit or beat target CPLs while increasing volume
  • You identify and scale winning keywords/ad groups quickly
  • You bring structure and predictability to lead generation

Compensation

  • Competitive base + performance-based bonuses tied to:
    • Lead volume
    • CPL targets
    • Campaign profitability
  • Comprehensive healthcare coverage - Medical, Dental and Vision
  • Paid vacation
  • Paid sick and mental health days
  • Tuition Reimbursement - Receive support for continued education with tuition expense reimbursement up to eligible limits
  • Growth & Development - Unlock professional growth through mentorship, ongoing learning opportunities, tuition reimbursement, and performance-based raises
