A Solar Campaign is an organized effort to promote the adoption of solar energy, typically through public education, outreach, and advocacy. These campaigns may be run by nonprofits, government agencies, or companies, and aim to increase awareness of solar technology, its environmental benefits, and available incentives. Solar campaigns often encourage homeowners, businesses, or communities to install solar panels by providing information on costs, savings, and the installation process. The goal is to accelerate the transition to clean, renewable energy and reduce reliance on fossil fuels.

Job description

Job Summary

Melink Solar is a leading commercial solar EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) organization specializing in designing and building solar PV and battery energy storage systems (BESS). We are seeking a visionary and results-driven Director of Sales & Marketing to lead the company's commercial growth strategy as an executive member of the leadership team. Reporting directly to the CEO, the VP of Sales & Marketing owns strategy, revenue growth, brand building, team leadership, and aligns sales and marketing to accelerate Melink Solar’s vision to transform the world with an improved global economy, security, and environment for ourselves and future generations. The ideal candidate is a proven business builder who can turn strategy into execution, develop high-performing teams, build trusted industry relationships, and drive profitable growth aligned with Melink Solar’s mission. This position is remote‑eligible, with relocation to Cincinnati preferred.

Duties / Responsibilities Executive Leadership & Strategy
  • Serve as the executive leader responsible for the integrated sales, marketing, and partnership functions; building the long‑term commercial roadmap to drive top‑line growth, market share expansion, new market development, and alignment with Melink Solar's financial and mission goals.
  • Work closely with the CEO, CFO, and executive team to set vision, strategy, and growth objectives.
  • Partner closely with operations, estimating, engineering, procurement, and project management to align growth plans with company capacity and margin expectations; establishing clear handoff standards so scope, schedule, pricing, risks, and customer commitments are fully understood before projects move into delivery.
Sales & Market Growth
  • Serve as architect and oversee the entire sales process, from lead generation through deal closure, ensuring consistent revenue delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct strategic market analysis to identify the highest‑opportunity geographic areas to enter and the vertical markets Melink Solar should prioritize, then build data‑driven expansion plans that position the company as the partner of choice for commercial and utility‑scale solar solutions.
  • Serve as the company’s expert in national account sales, developing and executing strategies to win multi‑site, national account customers rather than one‑off projects, and building long‑term programmatic relationships that drive repeatable revenue.
  • Drive data‑driven sales management through CRM adoption, pipeline accuracy, sales stage discipline, and a regular forecasting cadence; with KPIs, dashboards, and reporting that provide full transparency to the executive team.
  • Oversee proposal and RFP strategy for priority opportunities, coordinating with estimating, engineering, finance, procurement, and operations to create compelling, accurate, and commercially sound responses.
  • Develop and manage partnerships with Independent Power Producers (IPPs), advocates, financiers, utilities, developers, and community organizations to advance Melink Solar’s market position.
  • Develop new revenue channels and collaborative opportunities that strengthen Melink Solar’s position in the renewable energy value chain.
  • Build influence by representing Melink Solar at executive roundtables, trade associations, and policy discussions.
Team Leadership
  • Lead with high standards; coaching and mentoring team members regularly, conducting structured performance reviews with clear expectations and actionable development plans, and holding direct, candid conversations when needed to address gaps and maintain accountability.
  • Recruit, build, and scale high‑performing sales and marketing teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and shared success where every team member is empowered to reach their full potential.
Marketing & Brand
  • Define the annual and long‑term marketing strategy aligned with revenue goals and brand positioning, then empower the marketing team to execute against it.
  • Set the strategy and hold the marketing team accountable to SEO and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) performance goals, making Melink Solar the #1 ranked and easiest‑to‑find company on Google within its target markets.
  • Establish marketing KPIs and a regular reporting cadence, holding the team accountable to lead volume, campaign conversion rates, and brand visibility metrics; continuously evaluating ROI and reallocating resources toward the highest‑impact channels.
  • Own the sales and marketing budget, including lead generation investments, digital marketing spend, events, trade shows, sponsorships, CRM tools, and other resources needed to support profitable growth.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field (Master’s Degree or MBA preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive sales and marketing leadership with executive‑level responsibility for revenue growth, including a proven track record of building and leading teams that consistently exceed growth targets.
  • Deep understanding of renewable energy markets, EPC services, or infrastructure industries, with strong experience developing strategic partnerships with IPPs, developers, financiers, and utilities.
  • Solid understanding of C&I solar EPC fundamentals including utility bill analysis, solar proposal creation, roof mount, ground mount, and parking canopy project types, and working knowledge of interconnection and permitting processes.
  • Working knowledge of battery energy storage systems (BESS) and hybrid solar+storage solutions, including how they are sold, scoped, and positioned in the C&I market.
  • Ability to balance high‑level strategic vision with hands‑on execution.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and influencing skills with C‑suite, board‑level, and industry audiences.
  • Proven people leader with a track record of building high‑performing teams through coaching, accountability, and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated success selling to and managing national accounts; including multi‑site and enterprise‑level customers, with experience owning CRM discipline, sales forecasting, proposal/RFP strategy, and sales process accountability in a project‑based or technical services environment.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing performance, including website traffic analytics, SEO, and GEO optimization, with the ability to hold a marketing team accountable to measurable search‑ranking goals.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across sales, marketing, estimating, engineering, finance, operations, and project management to balance customer needs, capacity, risk, and profitability; including experience managing budgets and allocating resources toward the highest‑impact growth initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with financial modeling for renewable energy projects.
  • Experience in utility‑scale PV and distributed generation markets.
  • Hands‑on experience in scaling businesses and launching new programs, service lines, or market initiatives.
  • Familiarity with renewable energy policy, incentives (IRA, OBBBA, ITC, Domestic Content, FEOC), and financing structures.
  • Established network in the clean energy ecosystem (customers, partners, associations, investors).
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to travel domestically (up to 30%) for executive‑level meetings, conferences, and strategic engagements.
  • Ability to occasionally traverse project sites in varying weather conditions.
How to Apply

Qualified candidates are encouraged to submit a resume and a brief cover letter describing their sales and marketing leadership experience and their interest in Melink Solar’s mission.
