Job description

Overview

Nakupuna Solutions is looking for a Software Test Engineer. This position will support the Department of the Navy, Enterprise Systems & Services Office (PMW 250) and the Naval Safety Command (NAVSAFECOM) efforts for Risk Management Information (RMI). This individual will work with a team delivering an application capable of capturing safety data and supporting the full lifecycle of risk mitigation practices. The RMI initiative consists of four capability areas established to improve safety processes and automated support for those processes.

Responsibilities

The following reflects management's definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned.  Management may assign additional duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons.

  • Execute unit, functional, and regression testing to verify application functionality and identify defects.
  • Perform end-of-sprint checklist testing to validate application readiness prior to production deployment.
  • Document, track, and report software defects, working closely with developers to ensure timely resolution.
  • Support Government Acceptance Testing (GAT) activities by preparing test cases, executing test scenarios, documenting results, and assisting the Team Lead as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with Government stakeholders, developers, business analysts, and other project team members to clarify requirements and validate expected system behavior.
  • Execute test cases based on documented requirements and user stories.
  • Verify bug fixes and perform regression testing to ensure changes do not negatively impact existing functionality.
  • Maintain accurate testing documentation, including test plans, test cases, test scripts, and defect reports.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to improve software quality assurance processes and testing efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

  • Knowledgeable of Agile software development practices.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience

Certification Requirements: Current credentials in relevant information technology and software development practices preferred.

Clearance: A background investigation at the T3 level is required, as this is not currently a classified position. Must be a U.S. citizen.

Physical Requirements: The ideal candidate must at a minimum be able to meet the following physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation:

  • Ability to perform repetitive motions with the hands, wrists, and fingers.
  • Ability to engage in and follow audible communications in emergency situations.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer.

The Nakupuna Companies use a market-based compensation strategy to ensure that our employees are compensated within applicable market ranges commensurate with multiple factors, including but not limited to the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements, and position location. The projected compensation range for this position is $66,000.00 to $95,000.00 (annualized USD). The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Nakupuna Companies total compensation package for employees.
