Fortinet is looking for an intermediate to senior QA Engineer to join our Ottawa office. If you are a driven and motivated self-starter that wants to contribute directly to the success of your team, this is a position for you.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Execute regression testing on Fortinet products using a combination of manual and auto-testing techniques.
  • Create, maintain, and execute test specifications and test cases
  • Write scripts to automate the testing cases
  • Identify, document, and track software defects found during testing
  • Work closely with developers to ensure defects are correctly identified and fixed
  • 5+ years of network and software testing experience
  • Strong experience in script and automation, such as Python, Jenkins and shell scripts, etc.
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing and switching
  • Strong experience in Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Knowledge of OpenSSL, Apache, Iptables, MySQL, Tcpdump and Wireshark
  • Good knowledge of security, i.e. firewall, encryption, PKI, x509 certificates
  • Experience with SMTP, Exchange server and Microsoft Active Directory service is desirable
  • Experience with virtualization platform like VMware, KVM, Xen is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to logically and analytically troubleshoot software
  • Demonstrated ability to write clear and reproducible problem reports, and test results
  • Knowledge of general QA procedures, methodologies and software development fundamentals
  • Experience with configuring, installing, and troubleshooting PC/server software and hardware in a Windows or Linux environment
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment and communicate well with other departments
  • Ability to work on assigned tasks under tight time constraints

  • Minimum Bachelors degree or Technical diploma in Computer Science or equivalent.

The Canada base salary range for this full-time position is expected to be between $92,300 - $112,800 annually.  Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labour market, job type, and job level.  Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, and experience.
