Job description

Stratolaunch is a technology accelerator that engineers operationally realistic testing at Mach 5+. Our air-launched, Talon testbeds are reusable, cost-effective platforms that enable routine access to the hypersonic environment. We deliver flight data critical to validating system performance and achieving rapid technology deployment. Together with our customers, we drive innovations that are imperative to advancing national security.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Proactively support Mission Ops, Engineering and Maintenance by complying with industry best practices and government requirements to produce accurate and safe documents.
  • Create technical, engineering, maintenance documentation, system description. documents, procedures, training documents, operational manuals, and reports.
  • Review documents with Subject Matter Experts and provide updates as requested.
  • Interface with Technical Publications Customers to make sure requirements are met and program modifications are understood and communicated to the team.
  • Support Mission Operations with Epsilon3.
  • Migrate existing procedures to Epsilon3.
  • Author, edit, approve, and release new Epsilon3 procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with ITAR and other regulations in document marking, storage and distribution.
  • Experience developing documents in a variety of content authoring tools and specialized authoring software including Word, FrameMaker and Arbortext Editor, Etc..
  • Train company personnel in the use of relevant tools, systems and processes.
  • Experience delivering documents in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Manage competing priorities with tight deadlines.
  • Create documents that are user-focused.
  • Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED
  • 5+ years' experience working with documentation publishing and/or management software.
  • Excellent organization and multi-tasking skills.
  • First-rate attention to detail.

PREFERRED
  • Previous experience producing technical documents in Aerospace and Defense.
  • 2+ years' experience working with or creating S1000D compliant documents and systems.
  • 2+ years' experience working with or creating hypertext internal documentation processes.
  • Experience with Jira, Epsilon3 and SharePoint
  • Experience with XML structured authoring tool

REQUIRED COMPUTER SKILLS
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio)
  • FrameMaker
  • Professional document creation and management tools

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Science, English or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience relevant to the role.

Special remarks regarding work environment, if applicable
  • Position based in Mojave, CA. Fully on-site preferred, but open to considering a hybrid work arrangement with ~75% regular on-site time (3 days onsite a week) for well-qualified candidates.
  • Travel, as needed, to support the department. Travel estimated to be <5%.
