POSITION PURPOSE

Processes controlled publications for Company's manual system. Performs and checks quality control prior to FAA submission. Manages and maintains controlled forms and graphics. Performs administrator functions for software such as rComply, Orlando, GE, Embraer eTechPubs, SharePoint and InForm.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Prepares changes to controlled documents for submission to the FAA as needed.
  • Performs quality control checks of all company issued revisions, bulletins and temporary revisions prior to FAA submission.
  • Updates master printing copy of publications and associated file management.
  • Creates, revises, tracks and maintains all controlled forms and graphics.
  • Installs and posts vendor and company electronic data to various distribution media.
  • Manages vendor printed publications and forms
  • Processes IT support tickets in Cherwell
  • Completes departmental audits as assigned
  • Processes print job requests on demand
  • Orders department supplies.
  • Coordinates with Manager, Technical Publications to support team objectives.
  • Provides input for continuous process improvement.
  • Maintains strong proficiency in the software and software administration.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability necessary to perform this job.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. / B.S.) or equivalent in Journalism with at least 1 year previous experience.
  • Skills with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat are required.
  • Proofreading and copy editing skills are required.
  • Possess the ability to learn new technologies and have aptitude to understand IT concepts.
  • Strong recordkeeping skills.
  • Work well under pressure while managing multiple deadlines, maintains accuracy, attention to detail and thrives in a rapidly changing environment.

PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Aviation with at least 3 years previous experience.
  • Experience with Adobe FrameMaker, Orlando, and SharePoint.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, vendors, and customers.

REASONING/PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
