Job description

The Software Project Lead is responsible for coordinating and driving execution across multiple Agile software development teams to ensure predictable, high-quality delivery of software programs supporting ASP products and platforms. This role provides program-level leadership through cross-team planning, dependency management, risk mitigation, release coordination, stakeholder communication, and execution governance. The position works closely with Product Owners, Engineering Managers, Technical Leads, Systems Engineering, Quality, Regulatory, Cybersecurity, Manufacturing, and other cross-functional teams to ensure software development activities remain aligned with business objectives, program commitments, quality expectations, and regulatory requirements. This position reports to the Senior Manager of Software Engineering at ASP USA. Responsibilities
Under limited supervision and in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, ASP policies, procedures, and quality system requirements, this position is responsible for the following:
  • Lead Scrum of Scrums and other cross-team planning activities to coordinate execution across multiple Agile development teams.
  • Drive program-level planning, roadmap alignment, milestone tracking, and execution management for software initiatives spanning multiple products and platforms.
  • Identify, track, and manage cross-team dependencies, integration activities, resource constraints, and critical execution risks.
  • Facilitate alignment between Product Owners, Engineering Managers, Technical Leads, Quality, Regulatory, Cybersecurity, and business stakeholders to support successful program execution.
  • Defining and institutionalizing metrics-driven execution (velocity, predictability, escaped defects, release burndown, cycle time)
  • Proactively identify blockers and organizational impediments, coordinate resolution activities, and escalate issues when needed.
  • Coordinate release planning and software integration activities across multiple Scrum teams to ensure successful deployment and product readiness.
  • Develop and communicate program status, risks, mitigation plans, dependencies, decisions, and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Lead risk management activities including risk identification, assessment, mitigation planning, and issue resolution tracking.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance Agile execution, team collaboration, delivery efficiency, and product quality.
  • Support field issue prioritization, investigation coordination, and resolution planning when software activities require collaboration across multiple teams.
  • Ensure software development activities comply with ASP quality system processes, software development lifecycle requirements, cybersecurity expectations, and applicable regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, software development, software project leadership, or technical program management.
  • 5+ years of experience leading Agile software programs, multiple Scrum teams, or large-scale software development initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile, Scrum, Scrum of Scrums, Safe, or other scaled software delivery methodologies.
  • Experience managing cross-functional software projects involving multiple stakeholders and development teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage dependencies, risks, schedules, priorities, and competing business objectives.
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project and Agile collaboration platforms such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, or equivalent tools.
  • Strong leadership, facilitation, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to influence teams and drive execution without direct management authority.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a regulated medical device software environment.
  • Familiarity with IEC 62304, ISO 13485, FDA Design Controls, EU MDR, cybersecurity requirements, and software quality systems.
  • Experience leading software programs involving embedded systems, cloud applications, cybersecurity, connected devices, or enterprise platforms.
  • Experience with release planning, DevOps practices, CI/CD processes, and software lifecycle management.
  • Scrum Master, PMI-ACP, SAFe RTE, SAFe Agilist, PMP, or equivalent certification.
  • Experience supporting global software development teams and distributed engineering organizations.
