Job description
At KPMG in Canada, our people bring their unique perspectives to Canada’s most important challenges. Here, you can build momentum that reaches beyond our business, develop skills for the future, and take ownership of your career with support at every stage. Join a firm where your career can make a difference.
Are you a talented leader with a proven track record for motivating teams and delivering exceptional client service?
Our Cloud & Software Engineering team is looking for a professional like you with the skills and drive to make a real difference.
What you will do
- Lead software delivery workstreams for custom applications, cloud-native platforms, integrations, APIs, and modernization programs.Â
- Provide hands-on technical direction across design, development, testing, deployment, and production readiness.Â
- Translate business needs into practical technical solutions, delivery plans, estimates, and team backlogs.Â
- Review architecture, code, test strategies, release plans, and technical deliverables.Â
- Coach and mentor senior consultants and consultants on engineering practices, technical problem solving, and client delivery.Â
- Help teams use AI-assisted engineering practices responsibly across requirements, design, coding, testing, documentation, and support.Â
- Collaborate with Toronto clients, national account teams, and the Montreal-based delivery team as part of a single national practice.Â
- Participate in occasional travel to Montreal, approximately twice per year, to support collaboration, team-building, and planning activities.Â
- Support proposal development, solution shaping, estimation, and statements of work.Â
- Identify technical risks and drive mitigation plans with the team and client stakeholders.Â
What you bring to the role
- 7+ years of experience designing, building, and delivering software solutions.Â
- Experience leading developers or technical delivery workstreams in consulting, enterprise, or product environments.Â
- Strong development experience with languages such as Typescript, JavaScript and Java, as well as frameworks including React, Node, Express and Next.jsÂ
- Foundational technology skills in HTML, CSS and SQL.Â
- Experience designing and delivering solutions on cloud platforms, including application deployment, integration, data, DevOps, or cloud-native services. Azure experience in particular would be an asset.Â
- Knowledge of APIs, microservices, event-driven architecture, integration patterns, containers, functions-as-a-service, , and secure development practices.Â
- Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, version control, observability, and release management.Â
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (including Codex, Claude and Github Copilot), Gen AI patterns, prompt engineering for delivery tasks, or AI-accelerated SDLC practices is an asset.Â
- Strong communication and documentation skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to business and technical audiences.Â
- Ability to travel for client and business related requirements as needed.Â
- English fluency is required; French is an asset but not required.Â
- University degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.Â
- Azure, AWS and Google Cloud certifications would be an asset.Â
