Overview
Connection has a fantastic opportunity through our Technical Staffing division for a Software Asset Manager. This is a permanent opportunity for an outstanding company in the healthcare industry.
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Software Asset Manager to join our team. As a Software Asset Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of software assets within our organization. Your primary focus will be on effectively managing software licenses, contracts, compliance, and optimizing software usage. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, procurement, legal, and finance, to ensure proper software asset management practices are followed.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement software asset management policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance with software licenses and legal requirements.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all software assets, including licenses, contracts, and entitlements.
  • Track and manage software license agreements, ensuring renewals and maintenance are properly executed.
  • Conduct regular audits to verify software installations and license compliance.
  • Collaborate with IT and procurement teams to plan and optimize software purchases and licensing agreements.
  • Monitor and report on software usage and metrics to identify opportunities for cost savings and optimization.
  • Ensure software assets are properly tracked, recorded, and accounted for in asset management systems or tools.
  • Work with vendors and negotiate software contracts and licensing agreements to obtain favorable terms and conditions.
  • Stay up-to-date with software licensing models, industry trends, and changes in software license agreements.
  • Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on software asset management practices and compliance.
  • Assist in resolving software license compliance issues, disputes, and audits.

Responsibilities
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience in software asset management or related roles.
  • Strong understanding of software licensing, compliance, audits, SaaS governance, and procurement processes
  • Experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
  • Familiarity with software asset management tools and systems.
  • Experience leading software asset management, IT asset management, or enterprise software operations teams
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of ITIL or other asset management frameworks is a plus.
  • Professional certifications in software asset management (such as CSAM or CHAMP) are a plus.
