Job description

Description
The Opportunity
Software is one of the largest and least visible costs in any enterprise, and managing it well takes more than a spreadsheet. It takes someone who can see the whole portfolio, negotiate against it, and turn licensing data into decisions. The Red Gate Group is seeking an experienced Software License Manager to support a major Intelligence Community customer, formulating and implementing efficient commercial IT procurement strategies, managing enterprise software licenses, and delivering the data analytics that drive software asset management across the enterprise.
In this role you will serve as the liaison between software vendors and the government, conducting in depth vendor product evaluations, impact analysis, and license engineering assessments, and you will support the management of enterprise and CIO software licenses from strategic planning through coordination with external stakeholders and overseers. You will maintain and reconcile software license inventory, financial records, current and out year budget estimations, and the cost of IT software and hardware procurement in the Software Asset Management (SAM) tool, then translate that data into recommendations and enterprise license analysis that meet real business needs.
You will keep the software data catalog current in ServiceNow, host the data share for the Agency's media library, and use the SAM tool to provide automated installation detection, license utilization monitoring, and automated deployment of software, upgrades, and patches with full configuration testing under Agency guidelines. As Enterprise License Agreements transition to your team, you will run the in depth analysis that determines resources, level of effort, mission category, applications in use, functional points of contact, and user base, and assess whether each agreement is enterprise wide or serves a select user base and whether it can be managed with current resources. If you want to own how an enterprise buys, tracks, and optimizes its software, this is the seat.
Join us. The mission depends on getting the details right.
You Have
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in software asset and license management, IT procurement, or data analysis relevant to this position, with at least a portion of that experience within the last 2 years.
  • Master's degree in an area related to the labor category from a college or university. Equivalent substitution is permitted as follows: an Associate's degree in a related field plus 4 years of relevant experience, OR a Bachelor's degree in a related field plus 2 years of relevant experience, OR 6 years of relevant experience, in lieu of the Master's degree.
  • Experience managing enterprise software licenses and software asset management at scale.
  • Experience using a Software Asset Management (SAM) tool for license inventory, installation detection, and utilization monitoring.
  • Experience maintaining a software data catalog in ServiceNow.
  • Experience conducting vendor product evaluations, impact analysis, and Enterprise License Agreement analysis, and reconciling license inventory, financial records, and budget estimations.
  • Experience with automated software deployment, including installations, upgrades, patches, and configuration testing.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.

Nice If You Have
  • CI Polygraph.
  • Experience supporting an Intelligence Community customer.
  • Experience developing commercial IT procurement strategy at enterprise scale.
  • Familiarity with enterprise license governance and service license review boards.
